Albert Martocchia Supervisor Town of Southold Town Hall, Main Road Southold, New York 11971 Dear Sir: State and Town A~reement Safer Roads Program Town of Southold Suffolk County Signing Project AGREEMENT Under the Safer Roads Program before monies can be allocated for this signing project within your Village a formal agreement between the Town of Southold and the People of the State of New York must be executed by both parites. We are sending you an original agreement and six copies which indicates the amount of money to be reimbursed to the Tov*n and the obligations the Town has to the State. The reimbursable cost entered on page 2 of the Agreement is the amount the Town can expect to receive for doing the work. Under the Safer Roads this is the construction cost less the 10% local share as computed on the cost summary sheet and restated below since the formal agreement never states that the locality has to pay 10% matching share for a Safer Road Project. Construction Cost 10% State Inspection Total Project Cost $22,036.20 2,203.62 $24,239.82 10% Local Share $ 2,423,98 Construction Cost Less Local Share Reimbursable Amount $22,0~6.20 $ 2.~23.98 $19,612.22 This agreement must be signed by someone with authority, either the superintendent of public works, superintendent of highways or the Mayor Page 2 and a resolution passed by the Board of Trustees authorizing the signing of said agreement. A copy of such authorization must be attached to the original and five copies of the agreemant and sent to the Regional Office in Hauppauge, New York for further processing. No construction w~ll be authorized until the Town submits to the State a certificate of insurance in the amounts listed under paragraph 13 of the Agreement. After the project agreement has been signed and returned, we will send it to our Main Office in Albany for Federal and State approval then to our Budget Division. It generally takes eight to ten weeks or more before authorization to start construction is granted.
