Box 1179 Southold, NY 11971 SUBJECT: Application for Emergency Bulkhead Repair Stirling Harbor Shipyard & Marina, Greenport, New York The recent storm and high tides resulted severe flooding of the subject marina's upland areas. This extra weight of water caused in some areas a total bulkhead failure and a partial failure in adjacent areas(see photos). The loss and settling of backfill material(see photo looking South) is interpreted as a partial failure of this single sheathed bulkhead built prior to 1980. Immediately upland of the failed and partially failed bulkhead is the marina's pool and cabanas. Further failure of this bulkhead would in all probability result in severe damage or loss of these facilities. You expeditious review and approval of this emergency bulkhead repair is requested. Enclosed are the required permit application documents. Sincerely, PECONIC ASSOCIATES, INC. President Cc: Stirling Harbor Shipyard & Marina
