Dear Ms. Neville:
Speed Limit Study
North Bayview Road, Vicinity of Goose Creek Lane
And Ship's Drive
Town of Southold
Our Case No. 009924TC
We have completed our investigation to determine if a reduction of the existing speed limit
would improve safety and traffic operations on North Bayview Road in Southold.
Based on the results of our study, we feel that reducing the speed limit from 35 mph to 30 mph
on North Bayview Road from Pine Neck Road to Jacobs Lane is appropriate.
Although we establish speed limits within the Town of Southold, the Town is responsible for the
installation and maintenance of the speed limit signs along Town highways. Attached are copies
of the ordinance concerning the new regulation on North Bayview Road.
Thank you for your interest in this traffic safety matter.
