(1) Area description: Beginning at the intersection of the northerly right-of-way of Lupen Drive extended and the westerly shore line of Little Creek to the intersect: of the westerly shore line of Hog Neck Bay; thence southerly along the westerly si line of Hog Neck Bay to Nassau Point on Little Peconic Bay; thence northeasterll from Nassau Point on Little Neck Bay along the easterly shore line of Cutchogue Harbor to the intersection of the easterly line of Mud Creek; thence northerly along the easterly shore line of Mud Creek to the northerly right-of-way line of Lupen Drive extended; thence easterly along the northern right-of-way line of Lup Drive to the point of Beginning. Y. 11958 TOWN OF $OUTHO'LD Dear Mr. Dean: Groundwater Contamination Mattituck~ New York Oil Spill No. 79-0110~_. As per our telephone conversation of February 4, 1~80, this letter is to inform you of this Department's actiones in the Mattituck area. We have received notification from the'Suffolk County Health Department concerning the contamination of. private drink~.ng Hater wells in the Pike Street area of Mattituck. Initial investigative activities have included the testing of various existing'storage tanks in the area and the installation of observation wells along Main Street, Wickham Street and pike Street. The observation wells shall be used for monitori.ng ~nd ~ater quality purposes. The wells may remain in. place for as long as six months, pending water quality analyses. U~o~ removal of these observation ~ells, the area ~ill be restored to its o~iginal condition.
