Dear Mr. LaValle:
Speed Limit Evaluation
CR 48 (Tucker's Lane to Hotton's Lane
'$0uthold
Your Case No. 989620
We have completed our investigation of the referenced location to determine if a reduction in speed
limit would improve safety and traffic operations. Our investigation included radar speed data and
evaluation of roadside development along the highway.
Our radar speed data showed the 85th percentile speed on this section of roadway is 56 mph.
Therefore, based on the 85th percentile speed and current roadside development along CR 48,
reducing the speed limit t¥om the current 50 mph would not be appropriate at this time.
Thank you for your interest in this traffic safety matter.
Very truly yours,

Our Case No. 979589
Dear Ms. T~rry:
This is in response to your letter requesting a reduction in the speed limit at the referenced location.
Out' investigation included radar speed data which showed the 85th percentile speed on this section
of C.R. 48 is 55 mph. Since our records show the speed limit in this area is 50 mph, reducing the
speed limit would not be appropriate. We have attached a copy of the order describing the location
of the 50 mph speed limit for your records.
Thank you for your interest in traffic safety.
