Text of law should be given as amended. Do not include matter being eliminated and do not use italics or underlining to indicate new matter. Town of SOUTHOLD Local Law No. 3 of 2006 Purpose- The purpose of this Local Law is to increase the number of members on the Town Ethics Board from three to five, in order to provide increased efficiency and broader participation on the Board. II. Chapter 10 of the Code of the Town of Southold is hereby amended as follows: III. § 10-19. Establishment of Ethics Board. A. A Southold Town Ethics Board of five (5) persons shall be appointed by the Town Board. The Ethics Board may establish rules for its own operations, which shall be available to the public, but whether included or not, the following procedures shall pertain to its activities: C. Term of office. The term of office of Ethics Board members appointed after January 2006 shall be five (5) years, expiring on March 31, except that upon initial appointment, one (1) member shall have a term of three (3) years, ,another shall have a term of four (4) years and the other a term of five (5) years, respectively. Severability. If any section or subsection, paragraph, clause, phrase or provision of this law shall be adjudged invalid or held unconstitutional by any court of competent jurisdiction, any judgment made thereby shall not affect the validity of this law as a whole or any part thereof other than the part or provision so adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional. iV. This Local Law shall take effect immediately upon filing with the Secretary of State. (If additional space is needed, attach pages the same size as this sheet, and number each.)
