Box 962 Cutchogue, New York 11935 Tel: (516) 734-7685 Fax: (516) 734-7976 SPECIFICATIONS FOR REPAIR OF LANDFILL TRUCK SCALE The incoming scale at the transfer station on County Rt. 48 in Cutchogue is in need of a complete re-bu'tld. The work will involve heavy steel fabrication and welding. It shall be accomplished as follows: · Removal of Scale Scale shall be picked up and removed to vendor's shop or other suitable location for repair. Vendor shall be responsible for all aspects of removal of the scale, including lifting the scale off its foundation and trasporting it to the work site, and back again to the transfer station upon completion of the work. Vendor shall provide the rigging, crane, and flatbed track to accomplish the removal safely. Vendor shall coordinate removal with the Atlantic Scale Company, who will be responsible for disconnecting all electronic sensors and wiring from the scale prior to its removal. · Rebuilding of Deck Panels Vendor shall remove all deck panels. Vendor shall remove all cross members suportmg the deck panels (21 6" x 4" steel T beams) and replace them with new beams, welding them to the existing steel side 'I' beams (which are not damaged and will not be replaced). Damaged panels to be replaced with new diamond plate 1/4" thick. All welds to be continuous, running the full length along each edge, so as to prevent seepage of water and moisture underneath the scale or between adjacent surface areas. No spot welding will be accepted. Vendor shall completely re-assemble the scale at his work site, then sand blast and p~mt entire scale, including all panels, top and bottom. Vendor shall provide all re-assembly hardware such as splice plate, bolts, nuts, and washers. · Re-placement of Scale Vendor shall re-place scale on its foundation. Vendor to be responsible for transportation of scale back to the transfer station, and putting it back in place. Vendor shall coordinate replacement of scale with Atlantic Scale Co., who will re-connect all sensors and wiring. This job involves a complete re-build of the scale, as described above.
