Dear Mr. Klos:
The Southold Town Board of Trustees reviewed the site plan dated October 2002 and
survey last revised January 24, 2003 and determined the proposed house renovation,
garage, fireplace, porch, second story addition to the dwelling, and new sanitary
system, to be out of the Wetland jurisdiction under Chapter 97 of the Town Wetland
Code and Chapter 37 of the Town Code.
Therefore, in accordance with the current Tidal Wetlands Code (Chapter 97) and the
Coastal Erosion Hazard Area (Chapter 37) no permit is raquirad. Please be advised,
however, that no construction, sedimentation, or disturbance of any kind may take place
seaward of the tidal wetlands jurisdictional boundary or seaward of the coastal erosion
hazard area as indicated above, without a permit. It is your responsibility to ensure that
all necessary precautions are taken to prevent any sedimentation or other alteration or
disturbance to the ground surface or vegetation within Tidal Wetlands jurisdiction and
Coastal Erosion Hazard Area, which may result from your project. Such precautions
may include maintaining adequate work area between the tidal wetland jurisdictional
boundary and the coastal erosion hazard area and your project or erecting a temporary
fence, barrier, or hay bale berm.
However, any activity within 100' of a Wetland line or seaward of the Coastal Erosion
Hazard Area would require permits from this office.
This determination is not a determination from any other agency.

Re: Wetlands CodeReview
Dear Mr. Krupski:
We are planning to renovate and alter our house at 2300 Grathwohl Road
in New Suffolk. Also planned is a new garage in the back yard and building a
new fireplace, porch, adding an upstairs area over the existing first floor in order
to move the bedrooms upstairs, a new sanitary system to meet Health
Department requirements in the front yard.
At the request of the County Health Department, a review is requested as
to whether or not a permit is necessary for the above. We enclose two copies of
site and detailed plans prepared by our Architect Patrick Brennan, and two prints
of a survey prepam,:l by Stanley J. Isaksen.
Also enclosed is a $40 check for your inspection fee.
