SUBJECT: LOCATION OF TIDAL WETLANDS BOUNDARY
Greetings,
My wife and I are planning the construction of our new home on Grathwohl Road,
New Suffolk, and we need to determine the boundary of the tidal wetlands along
West Creek near our lot. We plan on doing all our construction at least 100 feet
away from the wetlands; however, we must know exactly where the boundary is so
our engineer can properly locate and design our septic system and house footprints.
We are also applying for a permit from the NY State DES for this construction.
Can you please tell me how to go about determining this boundatay? I have hired a
professiona! land surveyor to do the topographical mapping of our lot and I would
like to have him tie in the tidal wetlands boundary on the map, to facilitate the
design of our home. For your information, our lot has two pieces, one on the
waterfront, where we will do no construction at all, and an upland piece where the
home will be built. The tax map numbers of these two pieces are: 1000 117 01 12
and 1000 117 04 04. We would appreciate any information you could provide,
including copies of town regulations, etc. that would help us obtain the necessary
