public. The Town Board of the town of Southold reserves the right to reject any and all

SPECIFICATIONS FOR THE PURCHASE OF
DIESEL FUEL FOR THE TOWN OF SOUTHOLD
FOR CALENDAR YEAR 2001
Under these specifications, the Town of Southold seeks bids for furnishing all of
the diesel fuel required for the Southold Town Highway Department (Peconic Lane,
Peconic, New York & Southold Town Collection Center/Disposal Area (County
Route 48, Cutchogue, New York) for the calendar year 2001 which is 40,000 gallons,
more or less as may be needed. Deliveries are to be made to the Highway
Department and Collection/Disposal Area as and when required.
In submitting bids, the bid price shall be based upon Tosco Refining Rack price to
which has been added the delivery cost per gallon. The aforementioned Tosco Consumer
Rake price is published daily.
Vendor receiving the award must check tanks twice weekly and fill as necessary.
The successful bidder will be required to make deliveries to the town within four
(4) hours of a request for a delivery from any town official and such bidder will be
required to make deliveries on any day of the week including holidays and shall make
deliveries in such quantities of 250 gallons or more, as may be required.
Routine deliveries to the Highway Department must be made between the hours
of 7:00 am to 3:00 pm, Monday through Friday. No deliveries are to be made to the
Highway Department on weekends or holidays unless an emergency call is made.
Routine deliveries to the Collection Center/Disposal Area must be made between the
hours of 7:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Sunday. No deliveries are to be made to
the Collection Center/Disposal Area on holidays unless an emergency call is made. All
fuel tickets for deliveries to the Town must be signed by a Town Employee.
Vendor receiving award must supply service for any and all repairs or
replacements on town owned pumps within four (4) hours.
The bid price shall not include any federal, state, or local tax, from which the
Town Of Southold is exempt.
The Southold Town Board reserves the right to reject any and all bids and waive
any defect or informality in any bid should it be deemed in the best interest of the Town
of Southold to do so.
Bids must include a non-collusive bid certificate, and be signed and sealed in
envelopes plainly marked "BID ON DIESEL FUEL", and addressed to the Town Clerk,
Town Of Soathold, Town Hall, 53095 Main Road, Southold, New York 11971.
