Reference: Application of John Dill to Reconstruct Existing Jetties
SCTM # 1000-117-10~3,4
Dear Sirs,
As an adjacent property owner, I am writing with regard to the above
application which I am informed is currently under review and open to public
comment.
The materials submitted by the applicant and forwarded to me by registered
mail indicate that access to the site will be by water, using a crane/barge.
While I am sure this will be the case with regard to the required heavy
equipment and material, similar projects along the New Suffolk waterfront
undertaken by Costelto Marine Contracting have also required daily site
access by numerous vehicles utilized by the workmen employed on the job.
In that regard, I wish to point out that landward access to Mr. John Bill's lot is
severely limited. His lot can only be accessed from Jackson Street via a twenty
foot easement across a lot (# 117.-10-3.3) of which I am the principa~ owner.
Although passable by foot, this easement is not presently cleared of trees or
brush and is neither graded or paved in any way. It clearly cannot presently be
used for vehicular access. I have great fears my adjacent driveway (which
could conceivably afford vehicular access) will become hopelessly clogged
with vehicles greatly inconveniencing me and my family and inevitably
damaging both my driveway and the adjacent landscape.
If the daily Costello work crew will be arriving and departing via land, I
respectfully request that you make a condition of your permit that all work
vehicles be required to park on Jackson Street and workman's access to the
beach work site be by foot along the deeded easement.
Thank you for your consideration in this matter.
Respectfully y~ou~
