Updated re: status
Southold Town Trustees’ office had sent letter to Palmeri’s that it would be
difficult to build structures on this parcel. In response to this letter, Irwin & Sondra
Palmeri sold the property to Peconic Land Trust as a bargain sale in December
2005. PLT intends to sell the property to Town of Southold once the property has
been listed on updated Community Preservation Project Plan list that will be
going before the Town Board on 1/17/06 to set public hearing for 1/31/06. As the
Trustees established that the parcel is unbuildable land, no septic credit is
available on the Town’s purchase of this property. Peconic Land Trust has
offered the property to the Town also as a bargain sale.
