POLICY: At scheduled Town Board meetings, the attending public is encouraged to briefly address the Town Board relating to agenda resolutions prior to their enactment; the public will also be given time at the conclusion of the regularly scheduled business agenda to address the Board on any given topic. PUBLIC NOTICES Southold Town Superintendent of Highways Notice of Spring Leaf and Brush Clean-Up. US Army Corps of Engineers, NY District, Notice of application of Cove Condominiums Homeowners Association for a permit to dredge with ten years maintenance and subsequent upland disposal in Corey Creek, Little Peconic Bay, Town of Southold. Written comments by April 14, 1998. New York State DEC, Division ofFish, Wildlife & Marine Resources, Notice of application of Alex Villani for proposed aquaculture activity involving the culture of shellfish on less than a five acre parcel of State underwater land in Long Island Sound, Mattituck, Town of Southold. M. to 4:30 P. M. Town Board Work Session. 1. 1998 Grants Program. 2. New Hire for Scavenger Waste Plant. 3. Appointments to Landmark Preservation Commission. 4. Amendment to Sec. 65-3 of the Town Code "Parking at Beaches" to include bike permits, fishing permits, kayaking permits, etc. V.~. RESOLUTIONS Special Note: At the start of the Town Board Meeting the Supervisor will invite the public to speak on the following resolutions. ,~) Authorize modification to General Fund Whole Town 1998 budget to cover overexpended appropriations in the insurance budgets. ~ Grant permission to the Southold Town Tree Committee to place advertisements in The Suffolk Times and The Traveler Watchman. '~ Authorize and direct Supervisor Cochran to execute a lease agreement with Sprint Spectrum L.P. for installation of monopole at the Police Department Site. q~. Grant permission for Receiver of Taxes Marilyn Quintana, Assessor Scott Russell, Senior Assessment Assistant Claire Glew, and Data Processing Equipment Operator John Sepenoski to attend a computer meeting with Suffolk County Treasurer John Cochrane in Riverhead. ~ Accept the resignation ofKaren E. McNeil, pm-time Clerk Typist. ..~ Authorize and direct the Town Clerk to advertise for a pm-time Clerk Typist for the Town Clerk's Office. Grant permission to Deputy Town Clerk Linda Cooper to attend the NYS DEC Seminar on 1998-99 conservation licensing in Stony Brook. Waive the fees for Alarm Permits for the Volunteer Fire Departments in Southold Town. Appoint individuals as part-time Matrons at the Southold Town Police Department. Authorize Human Resources Department Director Venetia McKeighan to coordinate with various service organizations to transport Town residents to receive medical treatments using a Town van. ~ . Accept the resignation of Jc,?,n J. P&~om the Scenic Byways Advisory Committee. Authorize and direct [he Town Clerk to re-advertise for bids for the construction of a Tourist Information Booth in Greenport. ~. Approve Home Rule Message re Health Research Science Board. Transmit to Legislator Michael J. Caracciolo to present to the Suffolk County Legislature the Arshamomaque and Dam Pond properties as candidates for open space acquisition to be acquired through the Suffolk County Partnership Program. Set 5:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 14, 1998, Southold Town Hail, as time and place for a public hearing on "A Local Law in Relation to a Stop Sign at Willow Pond Lane". Authorize and direct Supervisor Cochran to execute an agreement with Dennis Bannon, retired Police officer. ~) Request assistance of the Suffolk County Planning Commission in the provision of professional planning services to be provided by the Suffolk County Planning Department and shall provide payment for said services. Agree to pay Suffolk County a sum not to exceed twenty thousand dollars for the provision of professional planning services and authorize and direct Supervisor Cochran to execute said agreement with the Suffolk county Planning Department. Reappoint John C. Cronin, Jr., John B. Greene, and Ralph O. Williams to the Southold Town Landmark Preservation Commission. Southold Town Board Meeting Agenda - March 31, 1998 Page 4 V._~. RESOLUTIONS - Cont. Commit to purchase the property located at 52875 Main Road, Southold, for the sum of $170,000 and authorize Supervisor Cochran to execute the necessary documents; resolve to demolish the exisfmg residential building on the site; and within ten days of this resolution the Town Clerk shall post and publish a notice of said resolution. Allocate funds under the 1998 Grants Program. Set date for a publish heating on "A Local Law Regarding Daily Beach Permits". Set date for a public hearing on "A Local Law Regarding Creating a Municipal Electric Utility of the Town of Southold". Appoint Town Attorney. VI.
