U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Notice of application of Laughing Waters Property Owners
Association for a Department of the Army permit to dredge with ten years maintenance and
upland disposal in Corey Creek, Little Peconic Bay, Town of Southold. Written comment by
July 24, 1998.
New York State Department of Environmental Conservation Combined Notice of Complete
Application and Public Hearing of The Rev. Canon J.R. Elder to install two 40' groins to
prevent beach erosion at Gardiners Bay, East Marion, Town of Southold. Public hearing on

Application of Peconic Land Trust to restore a 5.75 acre portion of tidal salt marsh by
removing dredge spoils and reestablishing tidal hydrology and topography to match pre-

Special Note: At the start of the Town Board Meeting the Supervisor will invite the public to
speak on the following resolutions.
1. Authorize modification to the Board of Assessors 1998 budget for overtime earnings.
2. Abolish the position of Legislative Secretary in the Southold Town Building Department.
3. Authorize and direct H.H.S. Administrators to pay the medical of bill which was submitted
more than 90 days after service was rendered.
4. Authorize and direct Supervisor Cochran to sign an Agreement with Offshore & Coastal
Technologies, Inc. for the Goldsmith Inlet Study.
5. Request that the Suffolk County Department of Public Works conduct a traffic survey on
CR 48, from Tuckers Lane to Hortons Lane, Southold.
6. Request that the Suffolk County Department of Public Works conduct a traffic survey at the
intersection of CR 48 and Zack's Lane, by the Disposal Area in Cutchogue.
7. Accept, with regret, the resignation of John C. Cronin, Jr., from the Landmark Preservation
Commission.
8. Authorize and direct the Town Clerk to advertise for resumes for membership on the
Landmark Preservation Commission.
9. Accept, with regret, the resignation of Barbara Michelson from the Transportation
Committee.
10. Authorize and direct the Town Clerk to advertise for resumes for membership on the
Transportation Committee.
11. Authorize and direct the Town Clerk to advertise for bids for installation of a weight scale
control house at the Collection Center.

16. Authorize the issuance of Requests for Proposals for the design of a Town Recreational
Facility.
17. Authorize SEQR for 2% Land Preservation to be prepared by Town Attorney.
18. Grant permission to Southold Yacht Club, Inc. to use Goose Creek Beach parking lot for
upcoming regattas.
19. Promote Frank R. Kruszeski to the position of Police Sergeant.
20. Authorize modification to the General Fund Part Town 1998 budget.
21. Authorize modification to the Highway Fund Part Town 1998 budget.
22. Decrease the fee for transporting to and disposing of scavenger waste at the Scavenger
Waste Pretreatment Facility from $.07 to $.06, effective July 8, 1998.
23. Adopt bond resolution authorizing the acquisition of 13.85 acres of property on the west
side of Peconic Lane, Southold, at the estimated maximum cost of $210,000; and
authorizing the issuance of $210,000 serial bonds to finance said appropriation.
Determine that "A Local Law in Relation to Revising the Definition of Freshwater Wetlands
shall have no significant effect on the environment.
Enact "A Local Law in Relation to Revising the Definition of Freshwater Wetlands".
26. Enact "A Local Law in Relation to Electing a Retirement Incentive as Authorized by
Chapter 47, Laws of 1998".
