POLICY: At scheduled Town Board meetings, the attending public is encouraged to briefly
address the Town Board relating to agenda resolutions prior to their enactment; the public will
also be given time at the conclusion of the regularly scheduled business agenda to address the
Board on any given topic.

1. Local Law establishing a Night Fishing Permit

V._~. RESOLUTIONS
Special Note: At the star~ of the Town Board Meeting the Supervisor will invite the public to
speak on the following resolutions.
1. Authorize and direct Super~sor Cochran to execute an agreement with Suffolk County to
receive Community Development funding for HOME Investment Pannership
2. Establish 1999 pay schedule for Lifeguards and Beach Attendants.
3. Authorize Southold Town Beach Attendants to be supplied with a petty cash fund in the
amount of $$4.$0 per Beach Attendant.
4. Authorize the issuance of free beach parking permits to beach personnel.
$. Authorize a reimbursement of $30 per mile to Southold Town Beach Man.ors and
Lifeguards acting as rotating Lifeguards.

6. Authorize modification to the General Fund Whole Town 1999 budget to appropriate
donated funds for the Tree Committee.
7. Grant permission to the Tree Committee to place advertisements in the Suffolk Times and
Traveler-Watchman to assist them in locating significant trees within the Town.
8. Authorize Island Group Administration to pay the medical bill of an employee, which was
submitted by the provider more than 90 days al~er the service was rendered.
9. Authorize modification to the General Fund Whole Town 1999 budget to cover overdrawn
budget lines.
10. Request the New York State Legislature and the Governor to Sign into law a bill eliminating
the sunset provision of the Local Records Management Improvement Fund.
11. Authorize modification to the Solid Waste 1999 budget to cover the purchase of radio
equipment.
12. Appoint individuals as Technicians under the Fishers Island Safe BTI Mosquito Control
Program.
13. Designate the Melvin & Ruth Phaffhouse in Southold Town as a Southold Town Landmark,
as recommended by the Landmark Preservation Commission.
14. Authorize and direct Supervisor Cochran to execute an agreement with the Suffolk County
Office for the Aging, Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program.
15. Grant permission to Der. Beth Dzenkowski to attend the NYS Police Juvenile Officers
Association June 3 and June 4 in Ellenville, New York.
16. Accept, with regret, the resignation of David P. Moore from the Transportation Committee.
17. Accept the bid of Costello Marine Contracting Corporation to repair the Horton Point Stairs.
18. Grant permission to Cornell Cooperative Extension - Marine Program to plant beach grass
and spartina on property owned by the Town of Southold.
19. Authorize the closure of a certain portion of Sound Avenue in Mattituck on August 7, 1999
during the Mattituck Presbyterian Church "Annual Summer Fair".

Authorize and direct Town Clerk Elizabeth Neville to re-advertise for bids for the
improvements to the heating, ventilating and air conditioning in the Records Vault and
Storage Rooms in the Town Clerk's Office.
21. Accept, with regret, the resignation of Victor Brown from the Transportation Committee.
22. Appoint Nicole Miller as a Summer Intern in the Building Department.
23. Grant permission to the GreenportJOrient Girl Scouts to use the Tourist Information Center,
Route 25, Greenport, on June 14, 1999 for an awards ceremony.
24. Grant permission to the East Marion Fire Department to use certain Town Roads for their
"100t~ Anniversary Parade" on August 7, 1999.

Recommend to Suffolk County Department of Planning to use 2%~Community Preservation
Program funds for farmland preservation in Suffolk County Greenways Fund, and forward to
the Department of Planning a listing of farms for consideration.

Set 5:00 p.m., June 8, 1999 at Southold Town Hall as the time and place for a public hearing
on "A Local Law in Relation to Amending Certain Sections of Chapter 92, Entitled Vehicles
and Traffic of the Code of the Town of Southold to add a Night Fishing Permit".
27. Authorize a sign stating use by Southold Town residents only and setting a two-hour limit
for docking at the Beach Property on Fishers Island.
28. Adjust the hours of work for beach attendants to match the hours of work for lifeguards, per
the request of Ken Reeves, Recreation Supervisor.
29. Send a letter of support for the Coalition for Mandate Reform to the State Legislature.

on "Extension of the Temporary Moratorium on the Issuance of Approvals and/or Permits
for Business Zoned Property Along the Route 48 Corridor in the Town of Southold'.
