Town Board met at the Fishers Island Fire House, Fishers Island, New York, on Tuesday, November-23, 1965. The meeting was called-to order by SuperviSor Lester M. Albertson at 12:30 P.M. with the foll~w~g present: Supervisor Albertson; Councilmen Demarest and Valentine; Justices~ Tuthiltl clark a~d Edwards; Town Attorney and TOWn Clerk Richmond. Moved by councilma~ Valentine; seconded--by Justice Clark; RESOLVED: That theneXt' meeting-of ~the Town Board will be held at the office of the Supervisor, Lester M. ~lbertson, 16 South Street, Greenport, Ne~ York, on December 7, 1965, at 3:00 P.M. Vote of Town ~oard: 'AYes~iSupervisor Albertson; Councilmen Demarest and Valentine} -Justices Tuthill', clark and Edwards. Moved by Councilm~-n Demarest; secmmded by Councilman Valentine'; WHEREAS, Carlisle Cochran, Southold, N.Y. and Stanley Droskoski, Orient, N.Y. have served the Town of Southold as Police Patrolmen for a period of one and one-half years, N~W, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the salary of Carlisle Cochran and Stanley Droskoski be and hereby are increased from $6300 to $6500 per year effective as of November 27, 1965. Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Albertson; ~ounc~lmen Demarest and Valentine; Justices Tuthill, clark and Edwards. At 12:30 P.M. Supervisor Albertson opened the Hearing on the Fishers Island Ferry as advertised according to law, minutes of which were taken by a Secretary from Fishers Island. Moved by Councilman valentine; seconded by Justice Clark; RESOLVED: That the Superintendent of Highways of the Town of Southold be authorized to advertise for bids and to purchase from the lowest responsible bidder, the following: 10,000 lin. feet of snow fence with pickets 1½x~ inches, spaced 2 inches apart, 4 foot high stained red, with 5 double strands of 12½ gauge galvanized ~,ir.e, in 100 lin. foot rolls. 1,000 6-foo.t_~tudded,~ posts with flanges or anchor plates on posts~ Posts shall-~e less than 8.65 lb. each. Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Albertson; Councilmen Demarest and Valentine; Justices Tuthill, Clark and Edwards. County, New York. ; WHEREAS, the Beard of Commissioners of the FiS~rS Island Ferry District, in the Town of South~ld, Suffolk County, New York, has, pursuant to resolution duly adopted November 1, 1965, approved and recommended that the facilities of said Ferry .District be increased and improved by the acquisition of an additional ferry boat at a cos= estimated not to exceed $165,000~ 'to .be-used on the authorized routes of said Ferry District and has caused preliminary plans and specifications for the construction thereof to he prepared by Blount Marine, ship- builders and licensed naval architects, and has duly submitted to and file~ with the Town Board of said Town of Southold, a-signed copy of such resolution and a written petition dated November 4, 1965, requesting that said Town Board hold-a public hearing to consider such increase and improvement of the facilities of said Ferry District and to ma~e: funds available pursuant to Chapter 699 of the Laws of 1947, as amended, and the Local Finance, Law-to finance said increase and improvement of the facilities~ a~d to take other action in connect- ion ~herewith, all as more fully described and referred to in said petition, together with such preliminary plans and specifications, all of' which have been examined by the said Town Boar~; WHEREAS~ pursuant to an order adopted-on November 9, 1965, said T~Wn Board d~l~ called a-public, hearing to consider said. increase-and improvem~ntsof the facilities of,' said District at said estimated cost and ce~iEied copies of said order were-duly published and posted pursuant :to the provisions of the Town Law, and WHEREAS, a public hearing has been duly ~eld by said Town Board 'on this' 23rd:' day of November, 196'5, at 12:38 o'clock P.M. The estimated-maximum cost Of said specific object or-pUrpose, including preliminary coStS'~and costs incidental thereto' and the finahcing thereof is $165',000'. The ~plan of financing' is the' issuance of serial bonds of the .Town of sOuthold in the principal amount of $165,O~0 and the levy and-cO11~ction of taxes On all the taxable real property in Said Town to pa,.the principal of and interest thereon as the same shall become due and Payable.
