WHEREAS, Fishers Island Ferry District proposed leasing a.~portion of the Airport property to the Fishers ~Island Rod and Gun.Club .for a skeet and trap range, and · WHEREAS, a public hearing was held by. the Fishers Island Ferry. District, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED= That Supervisor Lester M. Albertson be and he hereby is authorized and directedtgapprove the sa~d lease with the Fish~rs Island Rod and Gun Club. John ~ada, Civil Defense Coordinator, has sent his resignation to the Town Board, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That this Board accepts his resig- natio~ with regret. Vote of Town Board: Ayes-supervisor Albertson; Councilman Valentine; Justices Tuthill and Clark. Moved by Justice Clark; seconded by Justice Tuthill: RESOLVED: That Justice E. Perry Edwards be and he hereby is appoint- ed Civil Defense Coordinator for Fishers Island. Vote of Town Board= Ayes-~upervisor Albertson; Councilmen Valentine and Justices Tuthil! and ~lark. Moved by Justice Clark; seconded by Councilman Valentine; WHEREAS, the Board of commissioners of the Fishers Island Ferry District has requested that the Town Board authorize said Commiss- ioners to enter into a lease with the Fishers Is]~d Farms, Inc., covering a certain dock and pier at West Harbor at Fishers Island, to be used for the docking of the Mystic Isle or other vessel used by said District during emergency periods when weather conditions prohibit said vessels from docking at Silver Eel Cove, said lease to be for a term of ten (10) years~at a rent in the amount-of twenty-five dollars ($25.00) per day during any day in which said vessels use said facilities, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Town Board does hereby authorize the Fishers !sladn Ferry District to enter into a lease with Fishers Island Farms, Inc. for a term of ten (10) years, cover- ing premises consisting of a dock and/or pier at West Harbor, Fish- ers Island, New York, at a rent of twenty-five dollars ($25.00) per day for each and every day when said premises are used for the dock- ing of the motor vessel Mystic Isle or other Ferry boat used by said District, said lease to give the landlord the option to cancel said lease at any time after said lease has been in effect for five years upon said landlord paying to the Fishers Island Ferry District a sum of money equal to ½ of the total cost of all dolphins and other dock w~k performed by the District on the premises for each year or portion of a year remaining in the term of said lease. Moved by JUstice Clark; seconded by Councilman Valentine; WHEREAS, the Fishers Island Fer~D'{Bt~ict proposes to enter into a lease with Fishers Island Farms, Inc., covering certain premises at West Harbor, Fishers, Island,. New York, to be used for the berthing of the motor vessel Mystic Isle' or other Ferry Boat used by the District during-emergency periods., and WHEREAS, ~he Commissioners of the Fishers Island Ferry District have advised this Board that it will be necessary .to install pile dolphins at .said pier for the safe berthing of sai'd .vessels, and have requested the T~wn Board to authorize said Co~missioners to advertise for bids for the installation of such dolphins, NOW, -THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVF/): That the Board of Commissioners of the Fishers Island Ferry District be and they-are hereby authorized to advertise for bids for the eonstruction of necessary dolphins in the vicinity of the wharf about to be leased by said ~District at West Harbor~, Fishers Island, New York. Moved by Councilman VaLentine; seconded by Justice Clark; WHEREAS, this Board deems it in the public interest and in the pro- motion of the health, safety, morals and general welfare ~f the Town of Southold that certain premises at Bayview, Southold, int~he Town of Southold, County of Suffolk and State of New York, hereinafter more fully, described be rezoned from "C" Industrial District to "A'~ Residential and Agricultural Dist~rict, and WHEREAS, as the said proposa~ was referred to the Planning Board for its official recommendation and report, and WHEREAS, the Town Board pursuant to due notice thereof, held a hearing thereon bn the 14th day of January, 1965, at which time a~l interested personS-were gi%en.an opportunity to be heard, NOW, T~EREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That. the Southold Town Buflding Zone OrdinanCe including the Building Zone Maps, be amended from "C" Industrial District-tO "A" Residential and Agricultural District on the following described property: ALL that certain tract, piece or parcel of.land s~tuate, lying and being at Bayview, at Southold,..in the Town of ~outhold, Suffolk county, New York, more particularly~bounded and .described as follows: BEGINNING at a point on the northerly line of North Bayview Road at the southwesterly corner of land formerly of J. Supervisor Lester Albertson reported thatthe Bomarc Base at Westhampton Beach, L.I.,N.Y. was discontinued by the Federal Government and that the County of Suffolk was interested in obtaining it. Moved byJ-~stice~ T~thitl; seconded by Councilman Valentine; WHEREAS, a petition was received from Woodhollow Property Inc.~request- ing~a ~change of zone of certain property at orient Point, Town of S Southotdv, County of S~ffolk, State of New York, described in said petition 'from '~A, Residential and Agricultural District to Business District, NOW, THEREFORE,.BE.IT RESOLVED: That the Town Clerk b~ the ~Town of Southotd be and he hereby is-directed to t~.ansmit this application to the Planning Board in accordance with Section 901, Subdivision C of Article IX of the Building Zone Ordinance of the Town of Southold. Albertson called a Special Meeting of the Town Board to meet at his office, 16 South Street, Greenport, New York, at 4:00 P.M. on JanuaryS, 1965. Moved by Justice Clark~ seconded by Justice Tuthill: W~REAS, Theodore O. Beebe, Cutch~ue, N.Y. has served the Town of Southold as Patrolman for a period of one and one=half years, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the salary of Theodore O. Beebe be and hereby is increased from $6300 to $6500 per year, effective as of January 23, 1965. Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Albertson; Councilman Valentine; Councilman Demarest; Justices Tuthill and Clark. SPECIAL MEETING OF JANUARY 28, 1965 WAIVER OF NOTICE OF TOWN BOARD MEETING We, the~undersigned, being members of the Town Board of the Town of Southold, Suffolk County, New Yor~, do hereby severally waive notice of the time, place and purpose of the meeting of the Town Board to be held at Greenport, in the Town of Southold, New York, on Thursday January 28, 1965, and do hereby consent that the same be held on said date for the transaction of any business which may properly come before said meeting.
