Therefore, no permit is required under the Freshwater Wetlands Act(Article 24 of the Environmental Conservation La,,N). Due to the soil conditions at the site and the existing grade elevation,there is apt to be some water accumulation under certain weather conditions in the crawlspace of the new addition similar to the existing crawlspace. After consultation with the owner,I have approved the installation of a sump pump and floor drain in the crawlspace mud slab, with the slab pitched a minimum of 114"per foot to the drain. The drain should be located over the excavated area with the most sand. In addition, the first floor framing members of the addition should be entirely pressure treated lumber,with an exterior grade plywood subfloor above.
