1995, accepted your bids for the following items for the Highway
Department, all in accordance with the bid specifications:
A lump sum amount of $43,015.00 for supplying and applying 50% MC-
250 and 50% RC-250 Liquid Asphalt Application with Sand.
A lump sum amount of $55,515.00 for supplying and applying RC-
250 Liquid Asphalt Application with Stone.
A lump sum amount of $52,515.00 for supplying and applying Polymer
Modified Bituminous Single Course Application for Pavements.
A price of $1.15 per gallon for supplying and applying RC-2 and MC-
2 Asphalt Road Materials.

NOTICE TO BIDDERS
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN in accordance with the provisions of
Section 103 of the General Municipal Law, that sealed bids are sought and
requested for the purchase and application of 50% MC-250 and 50% RC-250
Liquid Asphalt Application with Sand. Specifications maybe obtained at the
Office of the Town Clerk, Town of Southold, Town Hall, 53095 Main Road,
Southold, New York 11971.
The sealed bids, together with a Non-Collusive Bid Certificate, and
bank draft or certified check in the amount of 2% of the amount of the bid,
will be received by the Town Clerk of the Town of Southold at the Southold
Town Hall, 53095 Main Road, Southold, New York, until 11:00 A.M.,
Thursday, May 25, 1995, at which time they will be opened and read aloud
in public.
The Town Board of the Town of Southold reserves the right to reject
any and all bids and waive any and all informality in any bid should it be
deemed in the best interest of the Town of Southold to do so.
All bids must be signed and sealed in envelopes plainly marked "Bid
on Liquid Asphalt Application with Sand, and submitted to the Office of
the Town Clerk.
The bid price shall not include any tax, federal, state or local, from
which the Town of Southold is exempt.

The work shall consist of the construction of one or more
courses of bituminous surface treatments for pavements.
Bituminous pavements not to be applied to wet pavements
or when ambient temp is below 40 degrees. Construction
limits shall be May 1 - November 1.
Bituminous material distributor shall have an accurate
measuring bitumeter, an indicator showing pump output
in gallons per minute and full circulation spray bars.
Aggregate spreader capable of spreading 10' in one
pass at variable widths. Spreader to be self-propelled
and have dual operator stations.
3. Pneumatic tired rollers shall be required for
compacting the surface treatment.

Schim mix asphaltic concrete to be applied at the
discretion of the Highway Superintendent. Potholes,
settled areas, broken areas, truing and leveling as
directed.
Asphaltic concrete areas shall be fog sealed with the
same bituminous material selected for the project at
.01 gallon per square yard.
All manholes, catch basins, curbs and other structures
shall be protected against the application of bituminous
material.
After the area to be treated has been prepared to the
satisfaction of the Highway Superintendent, an
application of bituminous material (50% MC 250 and 50%
RC 250 liquid Asphalt) shall be applied at the rate
of three tenths of a gallon per square yard and
immediately covered with screened sand at the rate
of 40 lbs. per square yard.
