Re: Request For ........... Trustee Wetlands Permit;
Property Of ........... Robert Pellegrini;
Proposed Action ....... Removal of Existing Residence, Construction of New Residence;
Situate ............... Home Pike Road; Mattituck Creek; Southold; $CTM 1000-114-1-4.
Dear Mr. Krupski:
Please be advised the we (Inter-Science) have been retained by the above referenced property
owner (Robert Pellegrini) to coordinate the permit work leading towards (1) the removal of the
existing residence and (2) the construction of a new single family residence with accessory
structures. The subject property is accessed by Home Pike Road in Southold, fi'onts Mattituck
Creek and contains approximately 2,000 s.f. of tidal wetland as flagged by Inter-Science.
The new residence will be setback 86'from the wetland boundary. The new residence will be
located no closer to the wetland than the existing residence. As indicated on the enclosed site
plan. project limiting fencing and havbales will installed no less than 75'from the wetland
boundary.
It is our position that the proposed action is located outside of NYSDEC Tidal Wetland
Jurisdiction. Consequently, we have requested the issuance of a DEC Non-Jurisdiction Letter on
the grounds that all site disturbance will be located seaward of the crest of the bluff/the I0'
contour.
To assist in your review of this proposal and in addition to the $200.00 attached application fee, I
have enclosed three information packets, each containing the following materials:
Each of the 3 Enclosed Information Packets Includes:
· Trustee Wetland Application (General Data Sheet, Wetland Data Sheet, Notice to Adjacent
Property Owner, Proof of Mailing, Short EAF, Applicant Disclosure);
One survey/site plan of the subject property;
One sheet of site photographs;
· Two project site location maps; and
· Property/Applicant Authorization.
POST OFFICE BOX 1201 · 36 NUGENT STREET · SOUTHAMPTON, NEW YORK I 1969-1201 · 516-283-5958 · FAX: 516-283-5974
Upon your review of the enclosed information, I am confident that you will find the proposal to be
consistent with the objectives to which your regulations were written. Accordingly, I believe that our
request for a wetlands permit is reasonable.
With your receipt of this application, it is my understanding that the application will be discussed at your
May 23rd meeting. I am aware that you conduct your site inspections about one week prior to your
meeting date. I would like coordinate meeting you on the site to facilitate a greater understanding of the
proposal. Please notify me when the date and time of your site inspection approaches so that I can plan
on meeting you.
I hope that I have provided you with enough information to understand the proposal. IfI can assist your
review in any way, please feel fi'ee to contact me.
