The Town of Southold, in the County of Suffolk, a municipal corporation of the
State of New York, hereby acknowledges itself indebted and for value received
promises to pay to the bearer of this Note, or if it be registered, to the registered
holder, the sum of Eleven Thousand Four Hundred
............ Dollars ($ 11,400.00 ) on
the 29thday of May , 198 7, together with interest thereon from the
date hereof at the rate of Four and One Half
per centum ( 4{% ) per annum, payable at maturity. Both principal of and inter-est
on this Note will be paid in lawful money of the United States of America at
The North Fork Bank & Trust Co,, Mattituck, New York
At the request of the holder, the Town Clerk shall convert this Note into a
registered Note by resgistering in the name of the holder in the books of the Town
kept in the office of such Town Clerk and endorsing a certificate of such registration
hereon, after which both principal of and interest on this Note shall be payable only
to the registered holder, his legal representatives, successors or transferees. This
Note shall then be transferable only upon presentation to such Town Clerk with a
written transfer of title and such Town Clerk shall thereupon register this Note in
the name of the transferee in his books and shall endorse a certificate of such
registration hereon. Such transfer shall be dated, and signed by the registered
holder, or his legal representatives, and it shall be duly acknowledged or proved,
or in the alternative the signature thereto shall be certified as to its genuineness
by an officer of a bank or trust company located and authorized to do business in
this State.
This Note is the only note of an authorized issue, the principal amount of which
is $11,400.00
This note is issued pursuant to the provisions of the Local Finance Law,
constituting Chapter 33-a of the Consolidated Laws of the State of New York, the
bond resolution
"Bond Resolution of the Town of Southold, New York adopted April
20, 1982, authorizing the purchase of one (1) used front end loader,
at the estimated maximam cost of $70,000; for use by the Town Highway
Department, appropriating said amount therefor, authorizing the application
of $1,000, being the trade-in value of obsolete highway equipment and
authorizing the issuance of $69,000 serial bonds to the Town to finance
the balance of said appropriation" duly adopted by the Town Board.
The faith and credit of such Town of Southold is hereby irrevocably plea/ged
for the punctual payment of the principal of and interest on said Note according to
its terms.
It is hereby certified and recited that all conditiqns, acts, and things required
by the Constitution and statutes of the State of New York, to exist, to have happened
and to have been performed precedent to and in the issuance of this Note, exist,
have happened and have been performed, and this note· together with all other
indebtedness of such Town of Southold is within every debt and other limit prescribed
by the Constitution and Laws of such State.

The Town of Southold in the County of Suffolk, a municipal corporation
of the State of New York, hereby acknowledges itself indebted and for value
received promises to pay to the bearer of this Note, or if it be registered, to
the registered holder, the sum of FORTY FIVE THOUSAND SIX HUNDRED
DOLLARS ($45,600.00) on the 1st day of June, 1984, together with interest
thereon from the date hereof at the rate of Six and 05/100 (6.05%) payable at
maturity. Both principal and interest on this note will be paid in lawful money
of the United States of America at The Bank of New York, Greenport, New
York.
At the request of the holder, the Town Clerk shall convert said Note
into a registered Note by registering it in the name of the holder in the books
of the Town kept in the office of such Town Clerk and endorsing a certificate
of such registration hereon, after which both principal of and interest on this
Note shall be payable only to the registered holder, his legal representatives,
and it shall be duly acknowledged or proved, or in the alternative the

Segtion 1. The Town of
Southold, in the County of
Suf~lk, New York ("Town"),
is hereby authorized to pur-
chase one (1) used front end
loader at the estimated maxi-
mum cost of $70,000, for use
by the Highway Department of
the Towll. The estimated total
cost of said specific object or
purpose, including prelimin-
ary costs or costs incidental
thereto and the financing
thereof is $70.000 and the said
amount is hereby appropriated
therefore including the appli-
cation of $1,000, being the
trade-in value of obsolete
highway equipment presently
owned by the Town, and
hereby authorized to be ap-
plied towards the payment of
the equipment authorized by
this resolution. The plan of
fin0ncing includes the use of
said $1,000 trade-in allow-
ance, the issuance of $69,000
serial bonds to finance the
balance of said appropriation
and the levy of a tax upon all
the taxable real property in the
Town to pay the principal of
and interest on said bonds as
the same shall become due
and payable.
Section 2. Serial bonds of
the Town m the principai
amount of $69,000 are hereby
authorized to be issued pur-
suant to the provisions of the
Local Finance Law, constitut-
ing Chapter 33-a of the
Consolidated Laws of the State
of New York ("Law") to
finance the balance of said
appropriation.
Section 3. The following
additional matters are hereby
determined and stated:
(a) The period of probable
usefulness of the specific
object or purpose for which
serial bonds herein authorized
to be issued pursuant to
Section I hereof, within the
limitations of Section 11.00 a.

lb) Current funds are not
required by the Law to be
provided prior to the issuance
of the bonds authorized by this
resolution or any bond anti-
cipation notes issucd in antici-
pation thereof pursuant to thc
provision s of Section 107.00d. S

(c) The maturity of the
bonds issued under this reso-
lution will not exceed five (S)
years.
Section 4. Each of the serial
bonds authorized by this reso-
lution and any bond anticipa-
tion notes issued in anticipa-
tion of the sale of said bonds,
shall contain the recital of
validity prescribed by Section
S2.00 of the Law and said
bonds and any notes issued in
anticipation of said bonds,
shall be general obligations of
the Town. payable as to both
principal and interest by a
general tax upon all the
taxable real property within
the Town without limitation of
rate or amount. The faith and
credit of the Town are hereby
irrevocably pledged to the
punctual payment of the prin-
cipal of interest on said bonds
and provision shall be made
annually in the budget of the
Town by appropriation for (1)
the amortization and redemp-
tion of the bonds and any notes
in anticipation thereof to ma-
ture in such year and lb) the
payment of interest to be due
and payable and of the Law,
Sec/ion S. Subject to the
provisions of this resolution
and of the Law, pursuant to
the provisions of Section 30.00
relative to the authorization of
the issuance of bond anticipa-
tion notes, or, the renewals of
said Notes and of Section S0.00
and Section S6.00 to 60.00 of
the Law, the powers and
duties of the Town Board
relative to authorizing bond
anticipation notes and pre-
scribing the terms, form and
contents and as to the sale and
issuance of the bonds herein
authorized and of andy bond
anticipation notes issued in
anticipation of said bonds, and
the renewals of said notes, are
hereby delegated to the Super-
visor, the chief fiscal officer of
the Town.
Section 6. The validity of the
bond authorized by this resolu-
tion and of any notes issue~l in
anticipation of said bonds,
may be contested only if:
la) such obligations are
authorized for an object or
purpose for which the town is
not authorized to expend mon-
ey, or
lb) the provisions of law
which should be complied with
at the date of the publication of
such resolution are not sub-
stantially complied with,
and an action, suit or pro-
ceeding contesting such valid-
ity is commenced within twen-
ty days after the date of such
publication or
lc) such obligations are
authorized in violation of the
provisions of the constitution.
Section 7. This resolution
shall take effect immediately.
