Orient Point/Plum Island area sound front, being home to wintering waterfowl, is
one of the designated areas. A management committee is being formed. John
Sepenoski has been chosen by Supervisor Horton to be the Town’s

Inquiry made by real estate broker on behalf of a potential buyer to
property.
Suzanne Hahn inquired as to Town’s interest in preserving a part of the Gillispie
property (4 separate parcels) located on Dam Pond that includes a strip of land
running along the northerly side of the causeway alongside Dam Pond. Said
parcel includes an old barn. Two barrier beach lots separating Long Island Sound
from Dam Pond may also be offered to the Town for preservation.
LPC members showed a positive interest in preserving strip along causeway and
Dam Pond but would require a lot line change removing the barn from the
preserved parcel and also the right of way that provides access to three homes in
the vicinity. There is a positive interest in preserving the barrier beach lots. More
information is needed and Melissa will pursue this action.
