Albertson, at Greenport, New York, with the following present: Super- visor Albertson; Councilmen Dem~rest and Valentine; Justices Tuthill and Clark; Town Attorney Tasker; Superintendent of Highways Dean and Town Clerk ~Richmond. The Hearing 0s the Preliminary ~udget for 1967 was opened by..the Supervisor at 3:00 P.M. and'the minutes were taken by Barbara Dittmann. Moved bY Justice Clark; seconded by Councilman Valentine; WHEREAS~ ,the Town Board of the Town of Southold, N.Y. has met at the time and ~lace specified ih the notice of public hearing on the Pre- liminary Budget and heard all persons desiring to be heard thereon, NOW~ THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Town Board of the Town of Southold ~oes hereby adopt such Preliminary Budget as originally com- piled as th Annual Budget bf this'Town for the fiscal year beginning the 1st day of January, 1967 and that such Budget as so adopted be entered in detail in the minutes of the proceedings of this Town Board, and be it further RESOLVED: That-the Town Clerk of the Town of Southold shall prepare and certify, in duplicate, copies of said annual budget as adopted by the Town Board of the Town of Southold, together with the estimates if any, adopted pnrsuant to Section 202-A, Subdivision ~ of the Town Law and deliver one copy thereof to the Supervisor of this Town .to be presented ~ him to the Board'of'Supervlsors of the County of Suffolk. RESOLVED: That the Town Board accept the following agreement between the Town Board of Southold Town and the Village of Greenpor~ S~ffglk County, regarding the East-West Fire Protection District Hydrants:' Agreement made this 10th da~ of October, 1966, retroactive to.Julyl,. 1966, between the Town Board of the Town of Southold, Suffolk County, New York, hereinafter designated' as the Town, and the Village of ~reen- port,~ Suffolk County, New York, ~ereinafter designated as the Village. . WITNESSETH WHEREAS, by an agreement dated July 1~ 1961, the parties hereto contract- ed for the furnishings by the Village of water for fire protection pur- 323 poses in that part of the East-West fire protection district in the Town where~ the mains are installed, and WHEREAS, the contract, by its termS expired July tst, 1966, and WHEREAS, the parties are agreed ~upon the terms of a renewal of said contract, ~ ~ ' · NOW~ THEREFOR, in consideration 6f the premises and the convenants her~in, it isim~tually agreed as follows: 1) the amount ~o be paid to the Village for making an adequate supply of water available and placing~and maintaining hydrants shall be $65 per ~ydrant, per year, 2) this agreement shall continue for a period of five and one-half years ending on December 31st, 1971. -.- · 3) there are in existance as oftthis date ninety-seven (97) sueh hydrants-and any'hydrants added during the term of this contraut~shalt be paid for prOPortionately at the rate of $65 per hydrant per year - for such time as such newly added hydrants are in operation upon the joint~approval of the Town a~d Village Boards. · 4) in all other respects, the said agreement dated July 1st, 1961 is ratified~and confirmed. , IN WITNESS W~EREOF the parties have caused these presents to be signed in two counterparts, either~of which may be considered as an original, by their duly authorized officers the day'and year first above mentioned. Moved by Councilman Demarest; seconded by JuStice Tuthill; WHEREAS, Mattituck Chamber of Commerce has requested the Town Board to place one traffic light to be-placed on the corner of-Westphalia Road and Route 27A and one traffic light to be placed on. the corner of Wickham Avenue and Route 27A, Mattituck, N.Y. , NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That Supervisor Lester M. Moved by Councilman Valentine; seconded by Justice Clark; RESOLVED: That the Town Board be and he hereby is directed to request the Long Island Lighting Company to place one (1) MVOH street light on Pole %23 LILCO on the corner of Colony Road and Albertson Lane, Southold, N.Y. Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Alber%son; Cohncilmen Demarest and Valentine; Justices Tuthill and Clark. Moved by Justice Tuthill; seconded by Councilman Valentine; RESOLVED: That the Town Clerk be and he hereby is directed to request the Long Island Lighting Company to remove the present light on NYTCO pole %12 Factory Avenue, Mattituck, N.Y. and replace it with 175 MVOH street light. Moved by Councilman Demarest; seconded by Justice Tuthill: RESOLVED: That the Southold Town Board does hereby accept a Certificate of Deposit in the amount of $18,000.00 from Daniel G., Herbert and William Smith for the completion of roads, etc. in the subdivision owned and developed by Daniel G'., Herbert and William Smith, as rec- ommended by the Southold Town Planninq Board. Edgar .Worthington has applied to the Town Board f~r a single trailer permit dated October 24, 1966, NOW~ THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the application of W. E~g~r Worthington to locate a singl~ trailer on his property s/s Sound Avenue Mattituck, N.Y. be and the same is granted for a six (6~mon~h period. McLeod of 712 Vau~all Street, Ext., Waterford~ Conn. has applied for the .position and had held this position in 1963- 64-65, and WHEREAS, Fishers Island Ferry District requests permission t~ hire Wallace A. McLeod as Relief Purser, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the Town'Board approves the action of the Fishers Island Ferry District in hiring Wallace ~. McLeod_~s Relief Purser effective as of Nov. 1, 1966, and be it further RESOLVED:, That Wallace A. McLeod be compensated at the r~%e~of $1.50. per hour.
