The Southold Town Board met at the office of the Supervisor, Lester
M. Albertson, at Greenport, New York, on October 4, 1966 with the
following present: Supervisor Albertson; Councilmen Valentine~and Dem-
arest; Justices Tuthill and Clark; Town Attorney Tasker; Superinten-
dent of Highways Dean and Town Clerk Richmond.
The Town Clerk presented to the Town Board detailed estimates of rev-
enue and expenditures from the various Town Offices, Departments and
Districts for the-fiscal year beginning January 1, 1967, pursuant to
Section III of the Town Law. ~
Moved by Justice Clark; seconded by Councilman Valentine;
RESOLVED: That the ~minutes of September 20, 1966 be and they hereby
are d~l~ approved.

RESOLVED: That the next meeting of the Town Board will be held at the
office of .the~Supervisor, Lester M. Albertson, 16 South Street, Green-
port, New York, on Friday, October 7, 1966 at 3:00 P.M.

WHEREAS, Robert L~ Foster, 416 West Street, Greenport, N.Y. has applied
to the Town Board for a single trailer permit dated October 4~ 1966,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the~a~plica~ion of~Robert L. Foster
to locate a single trailer on the property of Kenneth T. Demon, Private
Road, E/S Bay Avenue, East Marion, N.Y. be and the same is hereby denied.

RESOLVED: That the Southold Town Board will accept a Bond of $18,000
as recommended by the Southold Town Planning Board for the completion
of roads, etc. in the subdivision owned and developed by Daniel, G.
Herbert and William Smith, located at Southold, L.I.,N.Y.

Moved by Councilman Valentine; seconded by Councilman Demarest;
RESOLVED: That John A. W~ckham and William Unkelbach, members of the
Planning Board, Town of Southold, be and they hereby are authorized to
attend New York State Federation Officials Planning Organization,
Ellenville, New York, on October 23, 24 and 25, 1966, and be it further
RESOLVED: That all actual and necessary expenses to travel, meals and
lodging incurred while attending said ~onvention be a legal charge
against the Town.

RESOLVED: That the Police Report for the month of September 1966 be
accepted by the Town Board and placed on file.

of September 1966 be accepted by the Town Board and placed on file.

RESOLVED: ~hat the Superintendent of Highways of the Town of Southold be
authorized to advertise for bids and to purchase from the lowest~ respon-
sible bidder, the following: One new 1967 4-door s~dan, one 1964 Olds-
mobile' Sedan to be take~ in tra~e, as part payment.

WHEREAS, THE Commissioners of the Fishers Is/and Ferry District, with the
consent of the Town Board, have entered into a contract with Blount Marine
Corp. for the construction of an 82-ft. Twin Screw Vehicular Ferry Vessel,
and
WHEREAS, said Commissioners deem it in the best interests of the District
that a person be employed by the District to supervise the construction
of said vessel and to make periodi~ inspections of the progress of said
wor~ on behalf of said District, and
WHEREASj Lawrence H. Reyb±ne, of Orient, New York, is a person qualified
to perform such services, and the Commissioners of said District desire
to employ Lawrence H. Reybine for such purpose and to compensate him at
the rate of $100.00 per day, together with necessary travel, meal and
lodging expenses incurred during the performance of such duties,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that%the Commissioners of the Fishers
Island Ferry District be and they hereby are authorized to employ Law-
rence H. Reybine to supervise the construction of the aforesaid Ferry
Vessel, and that the said Lawrence H. Reybine be compensated at the rate
of $100.00 for each day in which services are performed, provided, how-
ever, that the total number of days of such employment shall not e~ceed
twelve (12) without the prior written consent of said District, and that
in addition to said compensation, said Commissioners are authorized to
pay the expenses of travel, meais, lodging and other necessary expenses
incurred by Lawrence H. Reybine in the performance of such duties.

At 3:30 P.M. on accordance with a notice published according to law, bids
were opened for proposals to furnish to the Town of ~outhold 2 (2) two-
way radios and one (1) portable radio for the use by'the Southold Town
Police. Only one bid was submitted -- Motorola - two-way radios ~ $810.00
each of a total of $1620.00 and a p~rtable radio ~ $527.00.

RESOLVED: That the bids be turned over to the Police Committee fo~rstudy.

RESOLVED: That the Town Clerk be and he hereby is directed to request the
Long Island Lighting Company to install one (1) 100 cp overhead street
light on LILCO Pole ~62 on Middle Road, Mattituck, New York, the Long
Island Lighting Company to contact JuStice Ralph W. Tuthill for correct
location before installing same.

Valentine; Justices Tuthill and Clark.

RESOLVED: That a recess be called at 3:40 P.M. to study the radio bids.

WHEREAS, Motorola was the only bidder for two (2) two-way radios and
one (1) portable radio and met the specifications as r~quired,
RESOLVED: That Supervisor Albertson be and he hereby is directed to,
enter into a contract with Motorola for the purchase of police radios
as per bid submitted.

A letter was received from the So~th01d-Greenport Chamber of Commer!ce
requesting a Trailer Park on the Orient State Park, Orient, New York.
Supervisor Albertson will send the request %0 the State Assemblyman,
Perry B. Duryea.
