The Southold Town Board met at the office Of the Supervisor, Lester M.
Albertson, at Greenport, New York, on October 10, 1967, with the following
present:- Supervisor AlbeYtson; Councilmen Demarest and Valentine; Justices
Tuthii1 and Clark; Superintendent of Highways Dean; Town Attorney TaSker
and Town Clerk Richmond.

RESOLVED: That-the minutes of September 26, 1967, be and they hereby are
duly approved.

RESOLVED: That the next meeting of the Town Board will be held at the
office of the Supervisor, Lester M. Albertson, 16 South Street, Greenport,
New York, on Wednesday, November 8, 1967, at 3:00 P.M.
Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Albertson; Councilmen Demarest
and Valentine; Justices Tuthill and Clark.

RESOLVED: That this Town Board does hereby prepare and approve as the
preliminary budget of this Town for the fiscal year beginning on the
1st day of January, 1968, the itemized statement of estimate~d revenues
and expenditures hereto attached and made a~part of this resolution,
and be it
FURTHER RESOLVED: That such preliminary budget shall be filed in the
office of the Town Clerk where it shall be available for inspection by
any interested person at all reasonable hours, and be it
FURTHER RESOLVED: That this Board shall meet at 3:00 o'clock p.m. on the
8th day of November, 1967, for the purpose of holding a public hearing
upon such preliminary budget, and be it
FURTHER RESOLVED: That the Town Clerk give notice of such hearing in
the manner provided in Section 113 of the Town Law, and that such notice
be published in substantially the following form:-
NOTICE OF HEARING
UPON PRELIMINARY BUDGET
NOTICE is hereby given that the preliminary budget of the Town of Southold,
Suffolk County, New York, for the fiscal year beginning January 1st, 1968,
has been completed and filed in the office of the Town Clerk at Southold,
New York, where it is available for inspection by any interested person
at all reasonable hours.
FURTHER notice is hereby given that the Town Board of the Town
of Southold will meet and review said preliminary budget and hold a
public hearing thereon at the Office of the Supervisor, i6 South Street,
Greenport, New York, in said Town, at 3:00 P.M. on the 8th day of
November, 1967, and that at such hearing any person may be heard in
favor of or against the preliminary budget as compiled, or for or against
any item or items therein contained.
AND FURTHER NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, Pursuant to Section 113 of the
Town Law, that the following are proposed yearly salaries of Town
Officers of this Town, to wit:-

Preston and others, as recommended by the Southold Town Planning Board,
Raymond~Dean, Highway Superintendent, and Lawrence M. Tuthill, Constr-
uction~Engineer for the planning Board.

Engineer for the Planning Board.

BOND ANTICIPATION NOTE RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN
OF SOUTHOLD, NEW YORK, ADOPTED OCTOBER 10, 1967,
AUTHORIZED TO BE ISSUED FOR THE PURCPLASE OF A
TAX ACCOUNTING MACHINE FOR SAID TOWN.
RESOLVED BY THE TOWN BOARD OF THE TOWN OF SOUTHOLD, IN THE COUNTY
OF SUFFOLK, NEW YORK, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. A Bond anticipation note of the Town of Southold
(herein called "Town"), in the County of Suffolk, New York, in the ?
principal amount of $14,000, is h~eby authorized to be issued pursu-
ant to the provisions of the Local Finance Law, constituting Chapter
33-a of the Consolidated Laws of the State of New York (herein called
Law"), for the specific object or purpose, as more fully described
in the resolution entitled:
"Bond Resolution of the Town of Southold, New York, adopted July 11,
1967, authorizing the purchase of a tax accounting machine for said
Town, stating the estimated maximum cost thereof is $18,000, approp-
riating said amount.therefor and authorizing the issuance of $18,000
serial bonds of the Town to finance said appropriation,'~
duly adopted by the Town Board on the date therein referred to. Said
Note is to be issued in anticipation of the sale of serial bonds of the
Town heretofore presently outstanding in anticipation of the sale of
said bo~ds and the Note hereby authorized is not a renewal Not~. The
period of maturity of the Note hereby aurhoriaed shall not exceed one
year from date, and said Note may be renewed pursuant to the provisions
of the Law. Said Note is to be issued in anticipation of bonds for a
nonassessable improvement. ~ ~
Section 2. The terms, form and details of said Note shall be
as follows:
Amount and Title: $14,000 Bond Anticipation Note For
Purchase of Tax Accounting Machine-1967
Dated: October il, 1967.
Matures: October 11, 1968, subject to prior redemption
No. 1 Denomination: $14,000
Interest rate: 3.20% per annum, payable at maturity
P~ce of payment of principal and interest:
Supervisor's Office, Greenport, New York.
Form of Note: Substantially in accordance with form
prescribed by Schedule B, 2 of the Law.
Section 3. Said Note is hereby sold to the NORTH FORK BANK AND
TRUST COMPANY, Mattituck, New York, at the purchase price of $14,000
said Note to bear interest at the rate of three and twenty hundredths
per centum (3.2%) per annum, payable at maturity, and the Supervisor
is hereby authorized to deliver said Note to said purchaser upon receipt
the purchase price, plus interest, if any, from the date of said
Note to the date of delivery.
Section 4. Said Note shall contain the recital of, validity Pre-
scribed by Section 52.00 of the Law, and shall be a general obligation
of the town, payable as to both principal and interest by a general
tax upon all the taxable real property within the Town, without
limitation of rate or amount. The faith and credft of the Town ars
hereby irrevocably pledged to'the punctual payment of the principal
of and interest on said Note and provision shall be made in the budget
of the Town by appropriation for the redemption of the Note ~Q ma~hre
in such year and for the payment of interest to be due in such year.
Section 5. Said Note shall be executed in the name df the.~Town
by its Supervisor and the corporate seal of the Town shall.be affixed
thereto and attested by its Towh Clerk.
Section 6. This resolution shall take effect immediately°

RESOLVED: That the Town Clerk be and he,hereby is ~directed to request
the Long Island Lighting Company to install the following lights:
one 400 MVOH street light on Pole ~2, Oakla~n Ave., Southold
one 100 cpoh " ~ " on. Pole ~13 LILCO, Hamilton.Ave., Mattituck
remove present light and place 175 MVOH street liqht on pol~ ~3 on
Georges Road, New Suffolk
one 400 MVOH street light on Pole ~61 on the corner of-Factory Avenue
and Sound Ave., Mattituck
change from 100 cp light to long arm with 175 MVOH street light on Pole
~3 on Factory Avenue, north of Railroad, MattitucR~_

WHEREAS, H.J.S. Land and Development Corporation, Middle Road, ~reenport,
New Yo'rk~ made application dated October 5, 1967, to the Town Board
to dedicate certain highways at.Eastern Shores, Sec. II and Sec. III
Greenport, N.Y. to be known as Moore's Lane North, Westwood Lane, a
section of Inlet Ro~d Road, a section of Homestead Way, and a drai~r ~
age area, all in accordance with the map included, and b~ing more
fully described in said petition, together with releases executed by
the owners thereof, and ~
WHEREAS, the Highway Superintendent has inspected said highways and
has advised the Town Board that said proposed highways compTy in al~
respects to the specifications for the dedication of ~ighways in the
Town of Southold,
NOW, THEREFORE~ BE IT RESOLVED: That in accordance with Seetion 17~
of the Highway Law of the State of New York, consent be and the same
is hereby given to the Superintendent of Highways to make an order
laying out the aforesaid highways to consist of land described in
said application, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That the Town Clerk be and he hereby is auth-
orized and d&rected to forthwith cause the dedication and release and
deeds to be recorded in the office of the Clerk of the County of Suffolk.

RESOLVED: That the Board retain Kenneth A Slocum as Attorney to rep-
resent the Town of Southold ~n court in the Berling and A&P case on
assessments, he to be paid a reasonable compensation for his services.

RESOLVED: That General Bills in the amount of $8,091.47; Li'ghting Dist.

and F.I. Bills in the amount of $13,187.15 be and they are ordered paid.

Mr. Orville Terry and Mr. Spencer Terry of Orient, New York,- appeared
before the Town Board to voice their objection to the new proposed
Housing Code in it's present form.

The Southold Town Board met at the office of the Supervisor, Lester M.
Alberts~n, at Greenport, New York, with the following present: Supervisor

Supt. of Higl~ays Dean; Town Attorney Tasker and Town-Clerk Richmond.
The Hearing on the Preliminary Budget for the year 1968 was opened by th~
Supervzsor au 3:00 P.M. and the minutes were taken by Barbara Dimmannn.

WHEREAS, the Town Board of the Town of Southold, New York~ has met at
the time and place specified in the notice of public hearing on the pre-
liminary budget, and heard all persons desiring to be heard thereon; now,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the Town Board of the Town of Southold
does hereby adopt such preliminary budget as originally compiled, as the
annual budget of this Town for the fiscal year beginning on the 1st day
of January, 1968, and that such budget as so adopted be entered in de-
tail in the m~nutes of the proceedings of this Town Board, and befit
FURTHER RESOLED: That the Town Clerk of the Town of Southold shall pre-
pare and certify, in duplicate, copies of said ann~al budget as adopted
by the Town Board of the Town of Southold, together with the estimates,
if ~ny, adopted pursuant to Section 202-a, subdivision 2, of the Town
Law, and ~detiver one copy thereof to the Supervisor oft his Town to be
presentedl by him to the Board of Supervisors of the County of Suffolk.
