Albertson, at Greenport, New York, on Tuesday, July 25, 1967. The meeting was called to order at 3:00 P.M. with the following present: Councilmen Demarest and. Va!eh~ihei~'Justices Tuthill and Clark. Albertson, 16 South Street, Greenport, N.Y. on August 8,..1967,. at 3:00 P.M. Moved by Justice Clark; seconded by Justice Tuthill; WHEREAS, residents of Fleets Neck, Cutchogue, N.Y. have requested the Town Board to regulate the speed of boats in the narrow area of East Creek, Cutchogue, N.Y. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That no person shall operate a boat in the narrow area of East Creek, Cutchogue, at a speed greater than five (5) miles per hour, and be it further RESOLVED: That the Supervisor be and he hereby is authorized and.- directed to cause notice of such speed limit to be posted in approp- riate places. Vote of Town Board: AyeS-Supervisor Albertson; Councilmen Demarest and Valentine; Justices Tuthitl and Clark. John Case, Democratic Leader, Southold Town, appeared before the Board and read the following: "I have been authorized by the Southold Town Democratic Committee as the Town Leader to recommend to the Southold Town Board that.it is the sense of the Democratic Committee that the appointment to fill the vacancy of Chief of Police should preferably be made from the promotional list." Moved by Justice Clark; seconded by Councilman Valentine; WHEREAS, C. J. Graseck, Jr. applied to the Town Board for permission to lay.and maintain a well point and water pipe on Town property at Leton Drive, Southold, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That Raymond Dean, Supt. of Highways, Town of Southold, be and he hereby is authorized to issue a permit to C. J. Grascek, Jr., said permit to be drawn by Attorney Tasker and to be accompanied by permission from. the adjacent property owners, to maintain a wll point and water pipe on town property. Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Albertson; CouncKmen Demarest and Valentine; Justices Tuthill and Clark. Moved by Councilman Valentine; seconded by Councilman Demarest; RESOLVED: That the Town Clerk be and he hereby is directed to request the Long Island Lighting Company to install one (1) 100 cp street light on LILCO pole ~15 at the end of Gull Pond Lane, Greenport, N.Y. Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Albertson; Councilmen Demarest and Valentine; Justices Tuthill and Clark. 407 Moved by Justice Tuthill; seconded by Councilman Valentine; WHEREAS, William A. Steiner has applied to the Town Board for a single trailer renewal permit dated July 3, 1967, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the application of William A. Steiner to place a single trailer on his property, John's Road, east side of Main Road, Mattituck, N.Y. be and hereby is granted .for a period of six (6) months. Vote of Town Board:Ayes: Supervisor Albertson; Councilmen Demarest and Valentine; Justices Tuthill and Clark. Moved by:Justice Clark; seconded by Justice Tuthill; RESOLVt~D: That Fishers Island Ferry District Bills in the amount of $ ~;~3.U! be and the same are hereby ~rdered paid. Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Albertson; Councilmen Demarest and Valentine; Justices Tuthill and Clark. Mr. George Matthews and Mr. Walter Rowland of the Cutchogue-New Suffolk Park District, appeared before the Town Board requesting more funds to improve the Village Green, Cutchogue, ~.Y. A letter was received from M_rs. Bakelaar requesting curbs on her street. A Hearing was set bY the State in relation to raising the road between East Marion and Orient to be held September 14, 1967, at 10:30 A.M. in Orient, New York/ A discussion was held in relation to the resale cf sand to the residents of Southold Town from the Disposal Area at Cutchogue, in Order to enlarge the disposal area. A resident of Deep Hole Creek area appeared before the Board requesting that something be done about the drainage of water from the farms. The Board will investigate. Mr. Henry appeared before the Board requesting fill be placed on his property at Goose Creek. The Supervisor informed Mr. Henry that it would be impossible at thiS late date as the dredge has just about completed it!s work in Goose.Creek. AdjQurnm~nt was at 3:40 P.M. Albert W.
