aid would be available to them. Are they entitled to any aid and for
what purposes?

5. West Harbor and Water Pollution: Is there a state or town ordinance
that prohibits "weekend" boats from putting down permanent moorings in
th~ Harbor, and what can be done about these boats dumping garbage

Would the Tow~ have funds available to pay for such service?
6. The Draft: The problems of boys being drafted from the Island was ·

What is the percentage or quota for the county, and how does it affect
us?
7. Water Rates: The water rates have once again been increased, and it
was the 'feeling of~ many that something should be done about it.~Would
it be possible for the county to form a water district? Could a survey
be made to see if the water system on the island is adequate?
8. Sewage~Disposal: Ts there a town ordinance which prohibits ~mproper
sewage disposal, and is it necessary for each property owner to have
his own adequate disposal system?
9. Debris: The streets and beaches on the island are littered with all
kinds of debris. Is it possible to hire a full-time man for the h~ghway
department who could help to alleviate this problem? Also, ~s there a
town ordinance for littering? If not, could signs be erected stating a
fine for a~y littering?
10. Speed of boats and water skiing regulations: Is there any law or
ordinance which s~ates how fast a boat can enter ~ harbor and at what
distance water skiing is to be done from the shoreline?

There are a few on the island located on ma~n roads which are h~eavily
