RESOLVED: That the next meeting of the Town Board will be held at the
office of Supervisor Lester M. Albertson, 16 South Street, Greenport,
New York, on Tuesday, July 2, 1968, at 3:00 P.M.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the Town Clerk of the Town of South-
old beaand he hereby is directed to transmit this application to the
Planning Board in accordance with Section 901, Subdivision C or'Article
IX of the Building Zone Ordinance of the Town of Southold.

described in said petition from "A" Residential and Agricultural District
to "M" Multipl~ Residence District, ·
NOW, THEREFORE~ BE IT RESOLVED: That the~Town Clerk of the Town of Southold
be and he hereby is directed to transmit this application to th~ Planning
Board in accordance with Section 901, Subdivision C of Article IX of the

Wrecking Company for removal of Junk Cars and Trucks from the Disposal
Area, the fee not to exceed $3.00 per vehicle for said contract.

of roads, etc. in the subdivision known as Nunnakoma Waters, Southold, N.Y.

ANTICIPATION NOTE FOR LAND ACQUISITION-1967, TO THE EXTENT OF $10,000
AND APPROPRIATI~NG SAID AMOUNT THEREFOR.
Recital
WHEREAS, ~the Town of Southold (herein calied~ "TOWN"), in the
County of Suffolk, New York, has heretofore duly authorized, s6id and
issued its $51,00~ Bond Anticipatio~ Note ~the Land Acquisitlo~-l~67,
and it is now desirabl~ to redeem said NOte to the extent of $10,000
from a source o~her than the proceeds of the bonds in anticipation of
which said Note has been issued; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED BY THE TOWN BOARD OF THE TOWN OF SOUTHOLD IN THE COUNTY OF
SUFFOLK, NEW YORK, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The $51,000 Bond Anticipation Note For Land Acquisition-
1967 of the Town, hereinabove referred to in the Recital~of this resolution,
is hereby· authorized to be .redeemed on or before June 7, 19681, to the ex-
tent of $10,000 from funds of the Town now available to said PurPose, said
fund-s being a source other than~ the proceeds of the bond in anticipation
of which said Note was issued, and the said amount of $10,000 is hereby
appropriated therefor.
Section 2. This-resolution shall take effect immediately.

ADOPTED JUNE 11, 1968, AUTHORIZING THE RENEWAL, IN PART, OF THE $~1,000
BOND ANTICIPATION NOTE FOR LAND ACQUISITION-1967, BY ISSUANCE OF A NEW
NOTE IN THE PRINCIPAL AMOUNT OF $41,000.
Recital
WHEREAS, the Town of Southold (herein called "TQWN"~, in the ~
County of Suffolk, New York, has heretofore duly authorized, sold and
issued its $51,000 Bond Anticipation Note For Land Acquisition-1967,~ ~
and~has duly authorized the redemption of the Note to the extent of $10,000
and.it is now necessary and desirable to provide for the renewal, in part,
of said Note by the issuance of a new Note in the principal ~mount of
$41,000; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED BY THE TOWN BOARD OF THE TOWN OF SOUTHOLD, IN THE COUNT~ OF
SUFFOLK, NEW YORK., AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The $51,000 Bond Anticipation Note for Land Acquisition-
1967 of the Town, dated June 7, 1967, maturing June 7, 1968, subject to
prior redemption, numbered R-i, heretofore duly authorized, sold and issued
pursuant to the bond anticipation note resolution duly adopted by the T~l~n
Board of said Town on June 7, 1967, is hereby authorized to be renewed, in
part, by the issuance of a new Note in the principal amount of $41,000;
Said Note ~dated June 7, 1967, having-been heretofore duly authorized to
be redeemed from a source other than the proceeds of the bonds in anticL-
ipation of which said Note has been issued, to the extent of $10,000,
all as hereinabove referred to in the Recital hereof, pursuant to the
provisions of the Local Finance Lae, constituting Chapter 33-~a of the
Consolidated Laws of the State of New York (herein called "Law"). The
maturity of said renewal Note herein authorized shall not be later than
one year from its date, and said Note amy be further renewed pursuant to
the provisions of the Law.
Section 2. The terms, form and detailssof said renewal Note shall
be as follows:

BANK OF LONG ISLAND, Riverh~ad, New York, at the price of $51,000, to
bear interest at the rate of two and three-quarters per centum (2 3/4 %)
per annum, payable at maturity, and the Supervisor is hereby authorized
to deliver said Note to said purchaser upon recezpt of the purchase price,
plus accrued interest, if any,. from the date of said Note to the date of
delivery.
Section 4. Said Note shall contain the recital of ~alidity pr~scribe~
by Section 52.00 of the~Law and shall be a general obligation of the Town,
payable as to ~oth principal and interest by a general tax upon all the

taxable real property within the Town, without limitation of rat~ or
amount The faith and credit of the Town a~e hereby irrevocably pledged

to the punctual payment of the principal/and interest on said ~Note and
provision shall be made in the budget or.the Town by appropriation for
the redemption of a Note to mature in such year and for the payment.of

Section 5. Sad Note shall he-executed in the name of the Town
by its Supervisor and the corporate seal of said Town shall be affixed
thereto and attested by its Town Clerk.
Section 6. This resolution shall take effect immediately.

Due to inclement weather the Hearing at Fishers Island, N.Y. scheduled
for June 11, 1968 at 10 A.M. was postponed to Friday, June 18, 1968,~ at
12 noon at the Legion Hall, Fishers Island. The boat will leave Orient
Marina at 10 A.M.

WHEREAS, the Public Employees Fair Employment Law., constituting Article
14 of the Civil Service Law provides tha~ t~is-board, shal! define the
appropriate employer-employee negotiation units, and
WHEREAS, this board has heretofore created two such~units ~n. the town,
one unit being the "pol, ice unit" to includeall uniformed policemen in
the police department and the other unit being the "general unit" to
include all other town employees, except those deemed to be management, and
WHEREAS~ two employee organizations have evidenced a~ desire to ~e rec-
ognized as the negotiating representative of the uniformed policemen in
the "police unit",-namely %he Southold~ Town Police Benevolent Associat-
ion, Inc. and the Suf-folk Chapter - Civil Service .Employee. s Association,
and
W~EREkS, it is desired to ascertain the employees' choice of the empl..0yee
~or~anization to ~i?represent them in. the "police unit" by conducting an
election, and to establish procedures therefor,
NOW~ THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED~AS FOLLOWS:
1. That an election shall be held by this b~ard of the employees
in the "police unit" onTuesday, the 9th ~ay of July, 1968 at the SQuthold
ToWn Clerk's Office ~between the hours of 3:00 o"clo~ck P.M. and 5:00
o'clock P.M.
2. Such election shall be by secret ballot.
31 The ballot shall contain the two employee organizations which
claim to' represent th~ employees in the "police unit" namely the
Southold Town Police BenevOlent Association, INc. and the Suffolk Chap-
t~r - Civil Service Employees Association.
~i Each ~f said organizations shall be entitled to be ~represented
at said election by two observers of its own choice.
5.' Ahy party ~6 such election may challenge for good cause, the
eligibility of any person to part-icipate in such election. The ballots
of such challenged persons shall be impounded.
6. Upon the conclusion of the election, the parties thereto
shal~ be furnished With a tal~y of the bai~ots. ·
7. Notice Of the time and place of such election shall be given
by posting a notice Of the time and place and purpose thereof oX the
bulletin board ~ Police ~Headquarters, Peconic,-~ew Y~rk, at lea~t
five (5) days prior to ~u~h election and by mailing a copy of ~uch
notice ~ each uniformed 'policeman in the police department by regist-

A special meeting of the Southold Town Board was held on the Blue Bell
Police Boat, Fishers Island, N.Y. the members of the Board having waived
notice of the time, place and purpose of the meeting. The meeting was
called to order by Supervisor Lester M. Albertson at 11:30 A.M.

WHEREAS, the Cutchogue-New Suffolk Hist6rical Society, Cutchogue,
N.Y. has requested the permission of the Town Board to use Cases Lane
for recreation and activities ~n July 6, 1968,
~NOW, THEREFORE~ BE IT RESOLVED: That Cases Lane, Cutchogue, N.Y. be
closed to the public traffic from Route 25 to the first private ~e-
way on Cases Lane, on July 6, 1968.

Supervisor Albertson was authorized to re-hire Thomas Reeve, Mattituck,
