Albertson be and he hereby is authorized to contribute Town Funds in an amount equal' to half of the total cost up to'but not to exceed the sum of $475.00 to~ ward the cost of dredging the entrance of Brushes Creek, Mattituck, N.Y~. NOW,' THEREFORE, BEFIT RESOLVED: That no p~rson ~hall operate a boat in Little creek, CutchogUe, N.Y. at a speed greater than five (5) miles per hour, and it is further RESOLVED: That the Supervisor be and he hereby is authorized and directed to cause notice of such speed limit to be posted in appropriate places in said Creek. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That no person shall operate a boat in Goose Creek, Southold, at a speed greater than five (5) miles per hour, and it is further RESOLVED: That the Supervisor be and he hereby is authorized and directed to cause notice of such speed limit to be posted in appropriate places in said Creek. Schelin to locate a single trailer on his property, Johns Road, (Private Road) E/S Main ~oad, Mat~ituck, N.Y. be and hereby is grante~ ~or a six month period. Jensen be and he hereby is appoi~ted~Special Policeman of the Town of Southold to perform his duties as such on Fishers Island in said Town of Southold, he to serve at the pleasure of the Town Board, and be it further RESOLVED: That Richard A. Jenssen shall be compensated at the rate of $1400. per year as of ~%%~n3j] , 1968. Vote~ of ~Town Board: Ayes- ALL Moved by Councilman Valantine; seconded by Justice Suter; WHEREAS, it is required by Section 148.of the Education Law that a local Historizn shall be appointed by the Supervisor of the Town, and WHEREASm the Supervisor Appointed Lawrence Waitz to act as town historian, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That Lawrence Waitz be compensated while acting in the capacity of Historian in the amount of $600.00 per year payable in regular monthly payments asnof ~,~ ~,5"-, 1968, and BE IT FURTPIER RESOLVED: That the Town Clerk be instructed to file such certificates with the proper parties as is required by Section 30, Sub- division 3 of the Town Law. Moved by Councilman Demarest; seconded by Justice Suter; WHEREAS, the Superintendent of Highways of the Town of Sou~Dld has recommended to the Town Board that the Highway Specifications of the Town of Southold heretofore adopted by-the Town Board and effective on March 6, 1966, be amended, and WHEREAS, the Town Board has examined the present Highway Specifications and desires to make certain changes and additions thereto, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the aforesaid Highway Splecifi~ations of the Town of Southotd be and they hereby are amended to.~r~0vide changes and additions as follows: 4. All highways terminating at tidewater ~hall have a width of not less than 100 feet back from the mean high water mark, All highways on water front property must ha~e ~he sa~e access to the water as abqve require~. Each dead end shll have a stop sign on a i0 foot steel U type sign post. 5. Ail dead end highways must have a width of not less than 100 fe~t for a distance of 100 feet back from the dead end to provide for a turn~a- round all of which must be free of trees, bushes and stumps. A guard rail of 18~ inches in width galvanized steel to be mount~ on 4x6x6 inch posts of whidh 30 inches must be dipped in cresote to be put in the g~ound to cover the de~end and a stop%sigh to be mounted on a 10 foot steel U post shall be placed in the middle of the dead-end. 7. A width of 36 feet shall be hereinafter known as the highway area from which all trees, brush, rocks, stumps and other obstructions shall be thoroughly cleared and 11 such material shall be removed from the bounds of the highway, The remaining distance from the curb line tot_he property i'ine shall be raked and seeded. 11 B. Concrete Curbs: Curbs shall be installed on all streets within the sub-division or devel- opment. Ail intersections shall have a curve with a r~dius of not less than twelve (12) feet. The distance between curb faces on both sides of the h~ghway shall be 36 feet. Curbs shall be 6 inches wide, 6 inches hi~h, 16 inches deep.
