Albertson, 16 South Street, Greenport, N.Y. on Tuesday, February 27,
1968, The meeting was called to order at 3:00 P.M. with the following
present: Supervisor Albertson; Councilmen Demarest. and Valentine;
Justices Clark and Suter; Town Attorney Tasker; Superintendent of
High~s Dean and Town Clerk Richmond.
Moved by Councilman Valmntine; seconded by Justice Surer;
RESOLVED: That the minutes of February 13, 1968 be and they here~y
are approved. ~ ~
Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Albertson; Councilmen Demarest
and Valentine; Justices Clark and Suter.
Moved by Justice Clark; seconded by Councilman Valentine.;
RESOLVED: That the next meeting of the Town Board will be held at the
Supervisor's office, 16 South Street, Greenport, New York, on. Tuesday,
March 12, 1968, at 3:00 P.M.

RES0LVED~ That Lester M. Albertson, Supervisor, be-and be hereby is
°-authorized to appoint a committee of three (3) on a Local Narcotic
Guidance Council for the Town of Southold.

and Valentine; Justices ~lark and Suter.
Moved by Councilman Demar~est; seconded by Justice Clark;
WHEREAS~ the Congress has amended the Social Security Act to provide
for a more definite income eligibility level for medical assistance
recipients in determining the amount of federal matching funds; and
WHEREAS~ the action by Congress would substantially reduce the amount
of federal sharing mn the New York State. Medicaid program in 1968-69
and mn ensuing fiscal years; and
WHEREAS¥ failure to bring the New York State Medicaid program into agree-
ment with the provisions contained in the federal law would place an
additional financial burden upon the State and local governments, and
WHEREAS~ the cost of the program has already contributed to. the need
for increased local revenues in many areas; now, therefore, befit
RESOLVED: That the Supervisors' Association~of the State of New York
Inc. urges the New York State Legislature to amend the Social Services
Law to bring the Medicaid program into ~line with the requirements of
the federal law, including:
1. Elimination from participation in Medicaid of non-federally aided
adults in the 21 to 64 age group except in the event of catastroph~
illness as provided in the law prior to the enactment of Medicaid, and
2. Reduction in the income eligibility levels to at least the level
requi~ed for federal matching funds as adjusted during the t~ree-year
period ending in 1970; and be it further
RESOLVED: Thattcopies of this resolution forthwith~ be transmitted to
each New York State Legislator; and to the legislative body of each
county of the State, with the request that companion resolutions be
adopted and transmitted to their representatives in the State Legis~
lature.

RESOLVED: That Supervisor Lester M. Albertson be and he hereby is auth-
orized to ~ign the necessary papers for AN ACT ~ S~548, Assembly Bill
A-803, to erect the ~o~nty of Peconic from the territory now comprised
of the Towns of East Hampton, Riverhead, Shelter Island, Southampton
and Southotd in the County of Suffolk.

RESOLVED: That Adam Johnson of Greenport, N.Y. be and he hereby, is
appointed part time Dog Warden for a six month probationary period for
the Town of Southold, he to serve at the pleasure of the Town Board and
that his duties be directed by the Town Board, and be it further
RESOLVED: That Adam Johnson be compensated for such services at the aate
of $3.800.00 per year, and further
RESOLVED: That-.this appointment be ef~fec~ive as of ~

WHEREAS~ Sam Brown has ~plied to the Town Clerk for a single trailer
renewal permit dated February 16, 19~8,
~NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the application of ~Sam B~own to
locate a single trailer on his property off Middle Road, Cutchogue,
be and the same is hereby granted for occupancycfor~ a si~ (6) month period.

RESOLVED: That the Town Clerk be and he hereby is directed to ~equest
the Long Island Lighting Company to:
(1) remove one 100 cp street light on LILCO pole ~439 and replace it
with one 400 MVOH street lighton East Main Road, ~outhold,.N.Y~,--
and
(2) place one (1) 400 MVOH street light,on LILCO ~ol.e ~12, Pike
Street, Mattituck, N.Y.

WH~QEAS, Bernard Kap.lan, by peti%ion verified the 21st day Of ~ecember~
196$, petitioned the Town Board ~for~a change of zone of certain real
property described in said petit&on from "A" Residential and Agricult-
ural District to "M" Multiple Residence District~ and
WHEREAS, the said petition was referred to the Planning Board for ids
official recommendation and report~ and
WHEREAS, the Planning Board has .filed it's official report with the
Town Board, and
WHEREAS, the Town Board, pursuant to due notice thereof, held a hearing
thereon 6n the 13th day of February, 1968, ak which time all interested
persons were given an opportunity .~6 be heard,
NOW, THEREFORE., BEFIT ~RESOLVED: That the relief demanded in said~petition
of Bernard Kaplan be and the same is in all r.espects DENIED'.

Robert Seh appeared before the Board request~ing ,tha~-more material be
removed from Deep Hole Creek in front of his .proper~y.~
A letter was received from William Wickham,. Esq~.~in ~egards to the test
well ~n the vicinity of his and other property owners west of Alvah's
Lane, Cutchggue, N.Y.
A letter of thanks wa~ received ~from Mr'. ~onloR for~ the stree~ lightsl
The Southold Town Board could not consider the offer of the ~illage of
Greenport for property to be used as a Town Hall since the requirements
of the Village in relation to the offer were zmpossible to be met.
