MEETING OF SEPTEMBER 9, 1969
The $outhotd Town Board met at the office of Superviso~ Albert M.
Martocchia, 16 South Street, Greenpo~t, N.Y. On Tuesday, September
9, 1969, with the following present: Supervisor Martocchia; Councilmen
Demarest and Valentine; Justices Clark and Suter; Town Attorney Tasker;
Town Clerk Richmond. Absent: Justice E. Perry Edwards.
Moved by Councilman Valentine; seconded'by Justice Suter;
RESOLVED: That the minutes of August 26, !969, be and they hereby are
approved.
Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Martocchia; Councilmen Demarest
and Valentine; Justices Clark and Suter.
Moved by Councilman Demarest; aeconded,by Councitm~n Valentine;
RESOLVED: That the next meeting of the Town Board'will be held at the
office of Supervisor Albert Martocchia, ~6 South Street, Greenport,
N.Y. on September 23, 1969, at 3:00 P.M.

RESOLVED: That th~ reports of %he Police, Supervisor, Building Inspector,
Fishers Island Ferry District and Town Clerk for the month of August
1969, be accepted by the Town Board and placed on file.

RESOLVED: That this Town Board accept a check in the amount of $2500.00
forteited by the Outdoor Advertising Company for signs which Were n0t~
removed according to the agreement and court order.

RESOLVED: That the bill'of Smith, Tasker, Finkelstein and Lundberg
in the amount of $5,178.30 for legal fees be and kk~ hereby is
ordered paid.

RESOLVED: That Frances S. Gaddis be and hereby is appointed Clerk-
Typist to the Police Department at a salary of $4000.00 per year,
effective as of September 1, 1969, she to serve at the pleasure of
the Town Board.

WHEREAS~ Burton Potter Post ~185 American Legion, Greenport, New york,
applied to the Town Clerk for a Bingo License, and
WHEREAS, athe Town Board has examined the application and after invest-
i~ation duly made findings and determinations as required by law,
NOW~ T~EREFORE~ BE IT RESOLVED, That the Supervisor be and he hereby
is authorized and directed to execute on behalf of the Town Board the
findings and determinations required by law, and it is further

License to the Burton Potter Post ~185 American Legion, Greenport, ~.Y%

ation duly made findings and determinations as required by law,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT P~ESOLVED: That the Supervisor be and he hereby is
authorized and directed to execute on behalf of the Town Board the findings
and determinations as requried by law, and it is further

Pauline McConnell, ACkerly Pond Lane, Southold, N.Y., Mr. Clarence Bennett,
Westphalia~Road~ Mattituck; N.Y. an~ John Peishoff Fishers Island N.Y
be and they are hereby appointed Dog Enumerators for the Town of Southold
for the year 1969-1970.

RESOLVED: That the Town Board of the Town of Southold of the State of New
York elects to participate~as a participating employer in the State
Employees-Health Insurance Plan and to include in such plan it s office~s
and employees (and retired officers and employees), subject to and in
accordance with the provisions of Article XI of the Civil Servic~ Law and
the Regulations governing the State Health Insurance Plan, as presently
existing er hereafter amended, together with such provisions of the
insurance contracts as may be approved by-the President of the Civil
Service Commission and any administrative rule or directive governing the
plan.

RESOLVED: That the Superintendent of Highways, Town of Southold, be and
he hereby is authorized to advertise for bids and to purchase from the
lowest responsible bidder, the following:
One (1) used 1966 (or later model) V202 International Truck Cab & C~assis,
the cost of the above not to exceed the amount of $2800.00.

RESOLVED: That the Supervisor, Albe~t Martocchia, be authorized ~ adver-
~tise for bids and to purchase from the lowest responsible bidder, 250,000
gallons of Premium gasoline, or as much'as may ~e needed for the Town of

WHEREAs~ Carl Frelix, Jr. has applied to the Town Board for a single trailer
renewal permit dated August 25, 1969,
NOW~ T~IEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the application of Carl Frelix, Jr.
to locate a single trailer on property of Herman Hubbard, north side of
Main Road, Mattituck, N.Y. be and hereby is granted for a period of six
(6) months.

WHEREAS, William A. Steiner has applied to the Town Board for a single
trailer renewal permit dated August 25, 1969,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the application of William Ao Steiner
to locate a single ~railer on his property on John's Road, east side of
Main Road, Mattituck, N.Y. be and hereby is granted for a six~(6~ month
period. ~

W~EREAS, a petition was received from Henry Taca, Cutchogue Properties
Inc., 57~ West Lane, Bay Shore, N.Y. requesting a change of zone of
certain ~roperty described in said petition from "A" Residential and
Agricultural District to "C" Industrial District,
NOW, T~RREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the Town Clerk of the Town of
Southold be and he hereby is directed to transmit this applicatign to the
Planning Board in accordance with Section 901, Subdivision C of Article
IX of the Building zone O~dinance. of the Town of Southold.

RESOLVED: That Howard M. Terry, Building Inspector, Town of So~t~o~,
be and he hereby is authorized to attend N.Y.S. Building Conference on
October 8, 9 and 10, 1969 and that necessary expenses be a charge
agaist the town.

RESOLVED: That one (1) member of the Planning Board, Town of Southold,
be and he hereby is.authorized to attend N.Y.S. Building Conference on
October 8, 9 and 10, 1969, and that necessary expenses be a charge against
the Town.

RESOLVED: That General Bills in the amount of $10,378.49; Lighting District
Bills in the amount of $315.63; Fishers Island Ferry District Bills in the
amount, of.S18,123.05 and Highway Bills in the amount of $7,572.72 be and
they are hereby ordered paid.
