Martocchia at Greenport, N.Y. on May 6, 1969 with the following present: Supervisor Marto¢chia; Councilmen Demarest and Valentine; Justices Clark and Suter; Town Attorney Tasker; Superintendent of Highways Dean and Town Clerk Richmond. Absent: Justice E. Perry Edwards. Moved by Justice Suter; seconded by Councilman Valentine; RESOLVED: That the minutes of April 22, 1969 be and they hereby are approved. Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Martocchia; Councilmen Demarest and Valentine; Justices Clark and Suter. Moved by Councilman Valentine; seconded by Justice Clark; RESOLVED: That the next meeting of the Town Board will be held at the office of Supervisor Albert Martocchia, 16 South Street, Greenport, N.Y. on Tuesday, May 20, 1969 at 3:00 P.M. Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Martocchia; Councilmen Demarest and Valentine; Justices Clark and Suter. Moved.by Justice Clark; seconded by Justice Suter; RESOLVED: That the-reports of the Bay Constable, Police, Building Inspector, Justic~ Surer, Supervisor and Town Clerk for the month of April, 1969, be accepted by the Town Board and placed on file. Vote of Town Board: Ayes: Supervisor Martocchia; Councilmen Demarest and Valentine; Justice Clark and Suter. Mo ved by Councilman Valentine; seconded by Justice Clark; RESOLVED: That the Southold Town Board approves the action of the Commissioners of the Fishers Island Ferry District on the new fares for the Fishers Island Ferry, a copy of which is filed in the' office of" the Town Clerk. Moved by Councilman VaLentine; seconded~by Justice Clark; RESOLVED: That the Peconic Bay Power Squadron be and hereby is given permission t0 use the New Suffolk Beach facilities on May 30, 1969 after 6:00 P.M. for a beach cookout. Moved by Councilman Valentine; seconded by Councilman Demarest; W~EREAS, Section 64-b of the Town Law authorizes the town board to appoint a conservation advisory council, and W~IEP~EAS, this board deems it in the best interest of the Town of~Southold that such a council be appointed in the Town of Southold, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: as follows: 1. There is hereby appointed a conservation advisory council in the Town of Southol~ to be known as the~Sou~hold Town Conservation-Advisory Council to consist of 7 members who shall be appointed by the Town Board. 2. The Town Board shall designate the chairman of such council from the members thereof. 3. Of the members first appointed to such council, 4 shall hold office for the term of one year, 3 shall h01d office for the term of two years after their appointment, and thereafter upon the expiration of the term of each member,~his successor shall be appointed for a term of two years. a vacancy shall be filled for the unexpired term ~n the same manner as an origina~ appointment. 4~ the purposes of such council shall be as follows: (a) To advise in the~romotion and development of the natural resourses of the Town. (b) To conduct researches into the land area of the town and, seek ...... to coordinate the activities of unofficial bodies organized for similar purposes. (c) To advertise, prepare, print and distribute books, maps, charts, plans and pamphlets which in its judgment it ~eems necessary for i~s work. (d) To keep an index of all open areas within the town with the plan of obtaining information pertinent to proper utilization of such open areas incl%ding lands owned by the State or lands owned-by a village within the town or lands owned by the town. (e) To keep an index Of all open marshlands, swamps and all other wet lands inca li~e manner, and to recommend to the town board a program for the better promotion, development or utilization of all such areas. 5. Such council may appoint suck clerks and other employees~as it'may from time to time require with the approval of the town board. 6. The services and expenses of the council ~hall not exceed the approp- riations that may be made therefor by ~the town board. 7. Such salaries, charges and expenses as may be permitted by an appropriation~of the town board shall be a charge upon the taxable property of that part of the town outside of the Incorporated Village- of Greenport. Moved by Justice Suter; seconded by Councilman Demarest; WHEREAS, Rene Gendron, Harold T. Kroner and Emma Mae Kroner, J~seph Sowinski and Stephanie M. Sawinski hav~ made written application ~o the Town B~d dated the 1st day of H~i15,1968, to dedicate' certain ~ highways and pieces or parceIs of land, situate, lying;and being at .Cutchogue, Town of Southold, County of-Suffolk, State Of'New'York,~ shown as "VISTA PLACE" and "GT.RN~- COURT" on a certain map e~titied "Map of Vista Bluff", Cutchogue, filed in the office of the' Clerk of the County of Suffolk, on March 15, 1968, as file Map No. 5060, being more full~ described in said petition, together with release executed by the owners thereof, and WHerEAS, the kighways Superintendent has inspected s~id highways and has advised the Town Board that said proposed highways co~ply in all respects to the specifications for the dedication of highways in the Town of Southotd, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT R~SOLVED: That, in accordance with _Section 171 of the Town ~i~way Law, State of New York, consent be and the same is hereby~given to the Superintendent of Highways to make an order'laying out the aforesaid highways to consist of lands described in said petition and shown on certain map attached to said application, and BE IT FURTHER~RESOLVED: That the Town Clerk be and he hereby is authorized and directed to forthwith cause the dedication and release to be recorded in the office of the Clerk of the County of Suffolk, New York Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Martocchia; Councilmen Demarest and Valentine; Justices Clark and Suter. Moved by Councilman Demarest; seconded by councilman Valentine; RESOLVED: That Police Chief Carl Cataldo of the Town of Southold be and he hereby is authorized to attend Police Chief Association, Buffalo, New York, on July 20 to 24, 1969, and be it further RESOLVED: That the necessary.expenses incurred attending said Association be a-legal charge against the Town. Moved by Councilman Valentine; seconded by Justice Clark; RESOLVED: That Police Chief Carl Cataldo be and he hereby is-authorized to purchase one (1) unmarked police car under the County Contract for use by the Southold Town Police. Moved by Justice Clark; Seconded by Councilman Valentine; WHEREAS, Sam Brown has applied to the Town Clerk for a single trailer renewal permit ~ated May 6, 1969, NOW, THE~REFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the application of Sam Brown to locate a single trailer on his property off Middle Road, Cutch6gue, New York, be and the same is herebY granted for occupancy for a six ~6) month period.
