the Lon~ Island Lighting Company to install 175 OH~4V street lights
on LILCO poles ~106, 108 and 110 on Main Road, Laurel, N.Y.~ near
the Laurel Inn.

The Cutchogue-New Suffolk Park District is interested in purchasing
property at the end of Pequash Avenue, Cutcho~ue, said correspondence
being in the hands of Attorney Tasker.
Mr. Eastman, Representative of the Long Island'Lighting Company,
discussed street lighting in the Town of Southold with the Town Board.
A communication was received from H 0 S T.
Communication was received from R0des Trautman regarding the Railroad
crossing on Laurel A enue, Southold.

MEETING OF APRIL 22, 1969
The Southold Town Board met at the office of Supervisor Albert Martocchia
at Greenp6rt, N.Y. on April 22, 1969, with the following pressnt: Sup-
ervisor Martocchia; Councilmen Demarest and Valentine; Justices Clark
and Suter~ Town Attorney Tusker; Superintendent Dean and Town Clerk
Richmond. Absent: Justice E. Perry Edwards.

of five (5) years in place of William Unkelbach who passed away on
March 23, 1969. The term of office will begin May 1, 1969 and end
May i, 1~74.

RESOLVED: That Joseph Conway, Southold, N.Y~ be and he hereby is appointed
Police Patrolman of the Town of Southold to serve at the pleasure of the
Town Board unless otherwise provided for, and be it further
RESOLVED: That the compensation for this position be fixed at $6500;00
per year, payable biweekly, said appointment to be effective as of~May 10,
1969, on a one year probationary period.

WHEREAS, Roy and Lorraine Brown by petition verified the 25th day of

official recommendation and report, and

A police call box has been installed across from the outdoor theatre,
Main Road, between,Southold and Greenport, N.Y;
Mrs. Dove, Mrs. Rosenburg and Miss Harnan~appeared before the, To~n Board

requesting that the Board appoint a Committee to represent/~he Conservat-
ion Advisory Council.
Mr..Stanley Waymie appeared before the Board suggesting that night
meetings be held by the. Board. He also questioned the Board-about
different types of ordinances that may be.adOpted ~rom time to time.
Letters were received from the following:
Gerard Purcell in reference to draihage on Acker'ly Pond ~ane, Southol~.
Virginia Dietri~h regarding erosio~ on Long Island Sound.
Jeanne Corwin referring to Youth Progaam Funds for Greenport area. Said
letter was given to Attorney Tasker for study and reply.
Donald Fredericks commending Sgt. Santac~oce, Patrolmen Beebe and Conway
for fast and efficient rescue of a man Overboard in Peconic Bay,
possibly saving a life.
From Kermit Jones, Cutchogue, and Mrs. James H. Reutershan, Amagansett,
in reference to Fair Housing Ordinance.
New regulations have been received on the amendment to the Taylor
Act, copies of which wilt be sent to each employee.

and Suter; Town Attorney Tasker; Superintendent of Highways Dean and
Town Clerk Richmond. Absent: Justice E. Perry Edwards.

W~EREAS, Section 64-b of the Town Law authorizes the town board to appoint
a conservation advisory council, and
W~IEP~2%S, this board deems it in the best interes~ of the Town of~Southold
that such a council be ~ppointed' in the Town of Southold,
NOW~ THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: as follows:
1. There is hereby:appointed a conservation advisory council in the Town
of Southol~ to be known as the Sou~hold Town Conservation-Advisory
Council to consist of 7 members who shall be appointed by the Town Board.
