The Southold Town Board met at the office of the Supervisor, Albert M.
Martocchia, at Greenport, New York, on April 8, 1969 with the following
present: Supervisor Martocchia; Councilmen Demarest and Valentine;
Justice Suter; Town Attorney Tasker and Town Clerk Richmond'. Absent:
Justice E. Perry Edwards and Justice Henry Clark.
Moved by Councilman Valentine; seconded by Councilman Demarest;~
RESOLVED: That the minutes of the meeting of March 25, 1969 be and they
hereby are duly approved.
Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Martocchia; Councilmen Demarest and
Valentine; Justice Suter.
Moved by Justice Suter; seconded by Councilman Valentine;
RESOLVED: That the next meeting of the Town Board will be held at the
office of Supervisor Albert Martocchia, 16 South Street, Greenport,
N.Y. on April 22, 1969 at 3:00 P.M.
Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Martocchia; Councilmen Demarest
and Valentine; Justice Suter.
Moved by Councilman Valentine; seconded by Councilman Demarest;
RESOLVED: That Charles Grigonis, Southold, N.Y. be and he hereby is
appointed a member of the Southold Town Board of Appeals to serve
until April 30, 1974.
Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Martocchia; Councilmen Demarest
and ValentiRe; Justice Suter.
Moved by Justice Suter; seconded by Councilman Demarest;
RESOLVED: That the reports of Supervisor Martocchia, Building Inspector
Terry, Justice Suter and Town Clerk Richmond be accepted by the Town
'Boa~rd and placed on file.

Moved by Councilman Valentine; seconded by Councilman Demarest;
WHEREAS, the Peconic Outdoor Advertising Company was ordered by the
Courts to remove signs together with sign structures, and
WHEREAS, the structures have not been removed'within the time limited
for said removal under the direction of Howard Finkelstein, Attorney,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That Raymond Dean, Superintendentnof
Public Works be and he hereby is authorized to remove or have removed
th~ sign structures left by the Peconic Outdoor Advertising Company.

and Valentine; Justice Suter.
Moved by Councilman Valentine; seconded by Justice ~uter;
RESOLVED: That the Southold Town Board approves the-action of the
Fishers Island Ferry District on the bid for hull work and engine over-
haul and repair of the M/V Mystic Isle received from'the Thames Shipment
and Repair Company, the lowest bidder, all work to be done according
to the specific&tions.
Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Martocchia; Councilmen Demarest
and Valentine; Justice Suter.
Supervisor Martocchia advised the Board that h~ appointed Gerald We~ls,
John Lademann and Anthony Blados, Chief and Assistant Chiefs of the
Cutchogue Fire Department to act as Fire Wardens for Robins Islandl,
said appointments being made pursuant to Section 29 Subdivision 12
of the Town Law and Section 52 Subdivision 3 of the Conservation Law,
Martin Suter, a member of the Board is hereby designated as Superintendent
of Fires of the Town of Southold for th.e ensuing year to act in case
of the absence of the SuPervisor.
Moved by Justice Surer; seconded by Councilman Demarest;
RESOLVED: That this Town Board approves the action of the Fishers Island
Ferry District in hiring Mary Baldwin Bankiewicz as Secretary to the
Fishers Island Ferry District, at a rate of $2.00 per hour.

and Valentine; Justice Suter.

RESOLVED: That the Town Clerk be and he hereby is directed to request
the Long Island Lighting Company to install 175 OF~4V street lights
on LILCO poles ~106, 108 and 110 on Main Road, Laurel, N.Y. near
the Laurel Inn.
Vote of Town Board: Ayes- upervisor Martocchia; Councilmen Demarest
and Valentine; Justice Suter.
Moved by Councilman Demarest; seconded by Supervisor Martocchia;
RESOLVED: That General Bills in the amount of $10,484~.20; Highway
Bills in the amount of $12,875.22; Lighting District Bills in the
amount of $4,064.84 and Fishers Island Ferry District Bills in the
amount of $9,845.56 be and the same are hereby ordered paid.

and Valentine; Justice Surer.
The Cutchogue-New Suffolk Park District is interested in purchasing
property at the end of Pequash Avenue, Cutcho~ue, said correspondence
being in the hands of Attorney Tasker.
Mr. Eastman, Representative of the Long Island'Lighting Company,
discussed street lighting in the Town of Southold with the Town Board.
A communication was received from H 0 S T.
Communication was received from R0des Trautman regarding the Railroad
crossing on Laurel A enue, Southold.
Adjournment was at 5:45 P.M.

Moved by Justice Suter; seconded by Councilman Valentine;
RESOLVED: That Henry Raynor of New Suffolk, N.Y. be and hehereby is
appointed a member of the Southgld Town Planning Board for a period
of five (5) years in place of William Unkelbach who passed away on
March 23, 1969. The term of off~ce will.begin May 1, 1969 and end
May 1, 1974.
