The Southold Town Board met at the office of Supervisor Albert Martocchia
16 South Street, Greenport, New York, on Thursday, February 6, 1969, at 3:00
with the following present% Supervisor Martocchia; Councilmen Demarest~and
Valentine;-JuStiCes clark and Suter; TOwn Attorney Tasker? SUperintendent
of'Ei~nways~Dean and Town Clerk Richmond.
Moved by Just±ce Suter; seconded by Justice Clark;
RESOLVED: That the minutes of January 28, 1969,~be and they hereby are
approved.
Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Martocchia; Councilmen Demarest and
valentine; Justices Clark and Suter.
Moved by Councilman Valentine; seconded by Justice~Clark;
RESOLVED: That the next meeting of the Town Board will be held at the
office of Supervisor Albert Martocchia, 16 South Street, Greenport, N.Y.
on Tuesday, February 25~ 1969, at 3:00 P.M~
Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Marto¢chia; Councilmen Demarest and
Valentine; Justices Suter and Clark.
Moved by Justice Clark; seconded by Justice Suter;
RESOLVED: That~the monthly reports of Supervisor Albert Martocchia,
Justice Suter, B~ilding~InspeCtor Terry, Police and Town Clerk Richmond
be and they are accepted by the Town Board and placed on file.
Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Martocchia; Councilmen Demarest and
Valentine; Justices Clark and Suter.
John Lademann, Antone Dober and Chester Orlowski appeared before the
Board requesting that something be done about the farmers not planting
a cover crop. They compalined that dust from the farms had blown into
the houses, ruining paint and furniture and causing a breathing hazzard.
The Board informed them that they had visited the areas and would contact
the farmers to see if they would cooperate in the future and try to elim-
inate this hazzard. The Town ~o~d will confer with the Town Attorney
and see what solution can be made. Letters in relation to this problem
were received from Henry Krueger, Cutchogue, N.Y., Frank Maneral, Laurel,
N.Y. and Wesly Silser.
Mrs. Rosenberg, Southold, N.Y. appeared before the Board representing
the League of Women Voters and requesting that some of the Board members
attend the meeting at the County Planning Center Auditorium, Hauppauge,
N.Y. on February 13, 1969, at 7:30 P.M.
Moved by Justice Clark; seconded by Councilman Valentine;
RESOLVED: That the Annual report of the Police for 1968 be accepted by the
Town Board and placed on file.
Vote of Town Board: Ayes; Supervisor Martocchia; Councilmen Demarest and
Valentine; Justices Clark and Suter.
A letter was received from the Suffolk County Department of Health regard-
ing dust in the Gull Pond Area.
Moved by Justice Clark; seconded by Justice Suter;
RESOLVED: That the report of the Fishers Island Ferry District for the
month of December 1968 be accepted by the Town Board and placed on ~ile.
Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Martocchia; Councilmen Demarest and
Valentine; Justices Clark and Suter.
Moved by Councilman Valentine; seconded by Justice Clank;
RESOLVED: That Thomas Byrnes, Southold, N.Y. be and he hereby is appoint-
ed Watchamn, Town of Southold, Suffolk County, New York, to serve at the
pleasure of the Town Board, unless otherwise provided for by law~ and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That the compensation be fixed at $5900.00.

RESOLVED: That the Town Clerk be and he' hereby is directed to request
the Long Island Lighting Company to remove 100 cp lights on poles
~18 and ~19, Peconic~Bay Blvd., Mattituck, N.Y. and replace them with
175 MV lights. ~

be and the same are hereby ordered paid.
