Moved by Justice Suter, seconded by Councilman Rich, it was
RESOLVED, that the minutes of May 9, 1972 be and they hereby
are approved.
Vote of the Town Board: Ayes: Supervisor Martocchia, Councilman
Rich, Councilman Homart, Justice Suter, Justice Demarest.
Moved by Justice Demarest, seconded by Councilman Homan, it was
RESOLVED, that the next meeting of the Town Board will be held
at the Supervisor's Office, 16 South Street, Greenport, New York,
on June 6, 1972 at 3:00 P.M.
Vote of the Town Board: Ayes: Supervisor Martocchia, Councilman
Rich, Councilman Homart, Justice Suter, Justice Demarest.
Moved by Councilman Homan, seconded by Councilman Rich, it was
RESOLVED, that Lighting District bills in the amount of $4268.22
and $230.84 be and the same are hereby ordered paid.

The Fishers Island Ferry District report for the month of April,
1972 was received and placed on file.
Moved by Justice Suter, seconded by Councilman Homan, it was
RESOLVED, that the resignation of Stanley Sledjeski, Mattituck,
New York, from the Board of Housing Appeals, be accepted with
regret by the Town Board.

Recess was called at 3:30 P.M. for a hearing on Road Improvement
at Terry Waters, Southold. Minutes were taken by Mrs. McDermott.
Moved by Justice Demarest, seconded by Justice Suter, it was
RESOLVED, that the payment of $95,484.00 and $54,972.00 to the
New York State Retirement be and hereby is ordered paid.

Moved by Justice Suter, seconded by Councilman Homan,
W~EREAS, the County of Suffolk wished to turn New Suffolk Lane,
a County road, back to the Town of Southold,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that this road be accepted by the
Town of Southold under certain conditions which will be drawn up
by the Superintendent of Highways, Raymond C. Dean.

WHEREAS, the Southold Town Planning Board has prepared an
official report and recommendation on the application of Philip
Abatelli for a change of zone in the Cutchogue area from .... A"
Residential and Agricultural District to "B-i" Seneral Business
District,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that a public hearing will be
held by the Southold Town Board at the Supervisor's Office, 16
South Street, Greenport, New York, on Tuesday, June 20, 1972, at
7:30 ~.M. on the abovementi0ned petition, and that the Town Clerk
be and he hereby is authorized and directed to cause notice of said
hearing ~o be published in ~he Long Island Traveler-Mattituck
Watchman, pursuant to the requirements of law.

RESOLVED, that 5he resignation of John Bredemeyer, Orient, New
York, enforcement officer to serve summons for the Justice Court,
Town of Southold, be accepted with regret by the Town Board.

Moved by Councilman Homan, seconded by Justice Suter, it was
RESOLVED, that Frank Cichanowicz, Jr. be and he hereby is appointed
a member of the Southold Town Conservation Advisory Council for a
period effective May 6, 1972 and ending December 31, 1973.

Moved by Justice Surer, seconded by Councilman_Hogan, it was
RESOLVED, tha~ the Town Board approves the a~tion of the Fish'ers
Island Ferry District in accepting the lowest bid of Bouton Services,
Inc. for repairs of the roof and doors at the Elizabeth Airport
hanger building in the sum of $1809.20.

NOW, TPIEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the application of John
Tuthii1 to locate a single trailer on the east side of Elijah's
Lane, Mat%ituck, New York, be~and ~h~eby is granted for a period
of six (6) months.

WI~EREAS, Fred Lawson applied to'the Town Clerk for a single
trailer renewal permit dated-May 8, 1972. '
~OW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the application of Fred Lawson
to locate a single trailer on the south side of Sound Avehue,
Mattituck, ~w York, be and th~ same hereby is granted for a period
of six (6) months.

Moved by Councilman Rich, seconded by Councilman Homan, it was
RESOLVED, that the Town Clerk be and he hereby is directed to
request the Long Island Lighting Company to remove'a 100 CP light
and place a 175 MV street light on the corner of Griswold Street
and Terry Court, Southold, New York, Pole - NYT ~2.

Moved by Councilman Homan, seconded by Councilman Rich,
WHEREAS, the Southold American Legion Auxiliary, Griswold-Terry-
Glover Post ~803, Southold, New York, applied to the Town Clerk
for a Bingo l~cense, and
WHEREAS, the Town Board has examined the application and after
investigation, duly made findings and determinations as required
by law,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Supervisor be and ~he
hereby is authorized and directed to execut~ on behalf of the
Town Board the findings and determinations as required by law, and
it is further
RESOLVED, that the Town Clerk be and he hereby is directed to issue
a Bingo License to the Southo~d Legion Auxiliary, Griswold-Terry-
Glover Post ~803, Southold, New York.

WHEREAS, the Southold American Legion, Griswold-Terry-Glover Post
~803, Southold, New York, applied to the Town Clerk for a Bing6
License, and
~4EREAS, the Town Board has examined the application, and'after
investigation duly made findings and determinations as required
by law,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Supervisor be and he
hereby is auth~mized and directed to execute on behalf of the Town
Board ah~ findings and determinations as required by Law, and it
is further
RESOLVED, that the Town Clerk be and he hereby is directed Go
issue a Bingo license to the Southold American Legion, G~iswold-

Moved by Justice Demarest, seconded by Councilman Rich, it' was
RESOLVED, that the Southold Town Board oppose Suffolk County
Capital Budget for the years 1973-75, project ~7060, calling for
the acquisition of 990 acres in Orient, in two separate parcels.,
for County park.

Moved by Councilman Rich, seconded by Councilman Homart, it was
RESOLVED, that the Southold Town Board oppose Suffolk County
Capital Budget for the years 1973-75, project ~7055, calling for
the acquisition of 80 acres in Peconic for a County park.

Rich, Councilman Homan, Justice Suter, Justice Demarest.

W~EREAS, a petition was received from Bayview Development Corp.,
Southold, New York, requesting a change of zone on certain property
in Southold, said petition for a change of zone from "A" Residential
and Agricultural District to "MQi" Multiple Residence District,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Town Clerk of the Town
of Southold be and he hereby is directed to transmit this applica-
tion to the Planning Board in accordance with Article XVI, Section
1600 of the Building Zone Ordinance of the Town of Southold.

RESOLVED, that this Town Board accept the check of $154.72 for
paper salvage from Jet Paper Stock Co.

Moved by Councilman Homan, seconded by Councilman Rich, it was
R~SOLVED, that a public hearing will be held by the Town Board of
the Town of Southold at the ~upervisor's Office, ~ South Street,
Greenport, New York, on the 6th da~ of June 1972 at 8:00 P.M.
in the matter of the application of George Dornauer, and 8:15 P.M.
in the matter of the application of Clifford C. Cornell, for permits
under the provisions of the Wetlands Ordinance of the Town of
Southold, for the 'purpose of placing fill in premises of the said
george Dornauer and Clifford C. Cornell, Lots 23 and 24 on sub-
division map of Willow Point, Southold, New York. All persons
interested in said matter should appear at the time and place
above specified and they will be given an opportunity to be heard.

Moved by Justice Demarest, seconded by Justice Suter, it was
RESOLVED, that the Town Clerk be and he hereby is directed to
request the Long Island Lighting Company to remove a 100 CP
light from the corner of Narrow River Road and Route 25, Orient,
New York, and replace same with a 17~ MV light.

Several~people'-appeared before' the Town Board to ~i~cuss the ~
County~taking property in'the ~own of Southol~ for County parks.
Mrsl Csajko from the North Fork Taxpayers Association, Inc. presented
the Town Board with a letter protesting the'takin~ of lands in the
Town of Southold for park purposes.
