Meeting of January 4, 1972
The Southold Town Board met at the office of Supervzsor Albert
M. Martocchia, 16 South Street, ~reenport, New~ York, on January

WHEREAS, Section 64 of~the Tow%a Law requires the Town Board to
designate, by resolution, banks ~n the State in which the
S~pervlsor or any other officer of the Town shall deposit all
mon~es coming into their hands by ~irtue of their offices,, and
WHEREAS, the Town Board may require any Bank, so designated, to
deposit with .such Board Bonds or certificates of the,~nited
States, ~of the State of New York, or any County, town, city, village
or ~school district of the~State of New.York as security for such
funds ~o deposited but such bond or certificate shall be subject
to the approval of the Town Board and shall be deposited in such
place and held under such condition as the Town Boar,~ ~ay ~determine.

RESOLVED: That the Long Island Traveler, Inc., Southold, New
York, a.newspaper regu~ar!y published.in-the,Town of So,~hold,
which has been entered~as a second class m~i% matter, be a~nd
the same is hereby designated, effective as of February~ 1~~ 1972,
as the ~official paper of the Town of Southold for the publ~ication
of all notices, resolutions, ordinances and other matter required
to be published, and it is further
RESOLVED: That-the Suffolk Weekly Times, Gre,enpor~;-~Ne~,¥ork, a
newspaper, be des~gnated as an additional newspaper for ,the
publication of such notices, resolutions and ordinances.

RESOLVED: That any Town official elected or appointed who is
requi~ed to use his own automobile in the performance of duty
be compensated for travel expenses necessarily and actually
incurred in carrying out the duties of his office, at a rate ~t
to exceed twelve ($.12) cents per mile.

he hereby is appointed to the Board, of HousiNg_Appeals, Town of
Southold, New York, for a three year term, effective January 9,
1972.

RESOLVED: That Supervisor Albert M. Martocchia be designated
t? represent the Town.of Southold at the annual meeting of the
Association of Towns .of the State of New York. to be held in
New York City February 7, 8, 9, 1972, and to cast the vote of
the .aforesaid Town pursuant to Section 6 of Arti~cle III of the
Cpnstitution and byr~a~s ~f salad Associa~tio% and ~e it further
RESOLVED: That Justice Suter be designated to act as alternate
to cas~ the vote of said Town at the annual meeting of the
Associatioh .of Towns in the absence of. Supervisor Martocchia.

Super~.~sor, be ~a.nd~he~hereby~is a.uthorized ~o act ~as Social
Service Officer at the pleasure of the Town Board, and he is
to serve in such ~pacity without compensation, and it is further
RESOLVED: That the Town Clerk be instructed to file such
certificate with the proper parties as is required by Section 30,
Subdivision 3 of the Town Law.

Supervisor Albert M. Martocchia appointed Justice Louis Demarest
to act as Deputy Supervisor, in his absence, for the period
beginning January 1, 1972 to December 31, ~972, with compensation.
Supervisor Albert M. Martocchia appointed William Sbhreiver
as Deputy Civil Defense Coordinator for the Town of Southold,
to serve in such sapacity without compensatinn.

RESOLVED: That unless otherwise designated by resolution of
the Town Board, all meetings of the Town Board, Town of Southold,
