M~. Pa~l' Stoutenburgh, Walter Smith and David Horton appeared before
the Board to sta~'their objectic~ to proposed dredging and destroying
wet lands of the'Tow~, and the placing of bulkheads and dredging
fill around the bulkheads. Mr~ Kastner of Mattituck~ N.Y~ in the DeeP
Hole Creek area stated that ~he'was in favor of dredging Deep Hole
Creek as the channel had filled in and he thought the water weuld
be cleaner and more use of the creek.

RESOLVED= That the Superintendent of Highways of the Town of South0td
be authorized to advertise for bids and to purchase from the lowest
responsible bidder, the following: 100 tons of No~ 1 Grade Ca!~aga
(or equal) Rock'Salt,delivered in 1O8 lb'. paper bags to Peconic,
New York, by truck. '

WHEREAS, cariisle Cochran and Stanley Droskoski will have completed
six months satisfactory service as Patrolmen for-the Town of Southold
on December 1, 1964,now, therefore, be'it '
RESOLVED: That the salary~of Carlisle Cochran. and stanley ~Droskoski
be and hereby is inCreased from $54~8 to $5700 per year effective as
of NOvember 28, 1964. ~

WHEREAS, the Count!~i.?of Suffolk proposes to dredge certain areas of
Deep Hole Creek in the-Town of Southold, which dredging will be per-
formed by the County owned dredging equipment at a nominal cost to
the Town of Southold, and
WHEREAS, in order to accomplish said dredging, plans, specificati0ns~.
.agreements and: other documents must be executed on behalf of the
Town of S outhold,
NOW, THEREFOr, BE IT RESOLVED: That the-Supervisor be and he hereby
is authorized to execute, on behalf of the Town of Southold, all ne-
cessary plans, specifications, spoil areas, agreements, assurances
to theCou~y of Suffolk, license and/or dredging permit, application
to Federal and State Agencies and all o~her documents that may be re-
quired to accomplish said dredging work.

car containing radio equipment but does not own and maintain a radio
transmission base station, and
WHEREAS, the party ?f the second part,maintains a police ?ep&rt,

WHEREAS the party of the first part als0 proposes to ~nstall a ~tele-
Town of Shelter Island .may be answered ~hro~gh such a telephone at
the police headquarters of the Town of Southold, ~nd
WHEREAS, in view of the foregoing, it is believed that it would be in
the public interest that the parties hereto mutuallF agree that ~adio
transmi.ssions: be -received and dispatched '.on behalf of the Town of
Shelter Island by the T~wn of Southold at its~radio base station and
that in addition thereto-the~ ~TOWn of Shelter Island at its expense in-
stall a.telephone at the Southold Town police station which will receive
telephone calls directed to .the .shelter Island Town Police.
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS AGREED AS FOLLOWS:
1. That .the Town of Shelter Island at its own cost and expense will
cause a telephone equipment.~.to be installed and maintained at the
Southold Town Police station at Peconic, New York, whereby all tele-
phone communications directed to the Shelter Island Town Police will
be transmitted over said telephone and be received at the Southold
Town police headquarters.
2. That the TOWn of Southold hereby agrees that its personnel at
the Southold Town police station will answer all telephone communic-
ations received on said telephone equipment on behalf of the Town of
Shelter Island, will make the proper record of such telephone commun-
ica.tions and will where required either by telephone or radio trans-
mission dispatch the necessary information -to.the-Shelter Island Town
police relative- to such telephone .transmissions.
· ,~ That .the Town of Southold hereby agrees that it will receive
and dispatch radio transmissions to and from the Shelter-Island Town
Police vehicles and that the Town of Southold will keep a proper record
of all such radio transmissions.
4. That f~r the performance of such services..by the Town of Southold
for the Town of Shelter Island, the Town of Shelter Island hereby
agrees~ to pay the Town of Southold the" sum of $25,00 ~per month to be
paid on or about the 15th day of each and every--month d~ring the term
of this agreement.
5. This agreement~ shall co,,~nce on the ls% day,of November, 1964,
and shall.terminate on' the 31st day .of Decembers, 1965.

WHEREAS, Section 105 of the Town Law pr~ide~ that the Town officers
and employees ~who receiva or disburse monies of the Town shall account
to-the Town Board for all monies received and disbursed by them on
or about the 28th day of December, but not later than t_he 31st day of
December in'each year, - and
W~ERE~, -the Town Board deems it necessary to ~engage a pUblic account-
ant to prepare the aforesaid annual account for all ~Town offiders and
emplOYees,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: ~That. the T~wn Board engage the services
of Irving Miller, a .public accountant, to make the annual audit of .the
books, records, receipts and other dowuments of the Town Officers and
Employees of the Town of ~outhold for the fiscal year 1964 at a salary
of $350.00.
