Albertson at Greenport, New York on Tuesday, October 13, 1964 at 3:00 P.M, with the following present:' Supervisor Albertson; Council- man Dema~_.gst; Justices Tuthill and Clark; .T~wn Attorney Tasker~ Supt. of Highways Price and Town Clerk Richmond. Absent: Councilman Valentine and ~ustice E. Perry Edwards. Moved by Justice clark~ seconded by Justice Tuthill: WHEREAS, Mrs. Florence Kramer has for the past three years served the Town of Southold as the Town HistOrian, RESOLVED: That the Town Board does hereby recognize the. eXce-lleht and faithful service rendered by Florence Kramer to the T~wn of Southold during her years .as Town Historian, and. be it further RESOLVED: That in recognitio~ of her services to the TOWn oft Southold as Town Historian, the Town-~B°ard. ~present Mr s. FlOrence Kramer with a copy of this resolution as an expression of it'~s sincere, appreciation of her faithful services to the Town of Southold, effective as of October 31, 1964'~. Davis~, t -A~hurst Drive, Hastings-on- Hudson, N.Y. for a Department of the Army permit to eo~struct a jetty in Gardiners Bay, at East Marion, N.Y. was studied and this Town Board has no objection to the request. Moved by Councilman Demarest; seconded by Justice Clark; WHEREAS, this Board heretofore advertised for bids 'for' the purchase of police cars for the Town of Southold the specifications for-~wh~ch provided that delivery of such automobiles should be made on Nov. 15, 1964, and WHEREAS, thereafter the T~wn'.~B~ard received -bids from O"Keefe ~hev- roletOldsmobile, Inc, Greenport Auto Sales, Inc and Mullen AUto-Sales,~ and - WHEREAS, the bid of O'Keefe Chevrolet-ot4smobile, Inc. was the-.lowest bid bFt said bid provided that the delivery date of said automobiles would not be guarant~ed by said bidder, an~ WHEREAS, the next lowest bidder was Greenport Auto Sales, Inc. which bid was in all respects in conformity, to the specificationS, N~, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: t~hat the bid of O'Keefe Chevrolet- OldSmobile Inc. be rejected for the reason that the same i'S not"in conformity with the specifications, and it is~fur~her " RESOLVED= That the bid of Greenport Auto Sales, Inc be and the s~me hereby is accepted and the Supervisor be 'and-h~reby is a~thorized~- and-directed to enter into a contract' with Greenport Auto ~ies., Inc. for the purchase of six new 1965 police car-s at a total~ net cost of $9,782.00 ~n. con.formity with the specifications therefor.
