Albertson, at Greenport, N.Y. on Tuesday, July 14, 1964 at 3:30~P.M. with the following present: Supervisor Albertson; Councilmen Demarest and Valentine; Justices Tmthill~a~d Clark; Supt. of Highways Price; TOWn Attorney Tasker and Town Clerk Richmond. Moved~by COuncilman Demamest.; seconded by Councilman Valentine~ RESOLVED: That the regular meeting of the Town Board wil!~be he!~a% the office of the Superviso~, Lester M. Albertson, on Tuesday, Ju!y. 28, 1964, at 3:00 P.M. Vote of Town ~Board: Ayes-Supervisor Albertson; Councilmen Dgma~$st and Valentine; Justices Tuthill and Clark. Moved by Councilman Demarest; seconded by Councilman Valent~ng~ WHEREAS, a petition was received from Bernard Kaplan requesting a change of zone of cer~tain property in East Marion, New York, described in said petition from "A'~ Residential and~Agricultural District to ~'M" Multiple Residence District, N~W, THEREFORE, BE IiT RESOLVED: That the Town Clerk of the TOWn Southold be and he hereby is directed to ~ransmit this applica~0n~ ~o the.Planning Boardin acc0zdaace.withSection 901, Subdivision of Article IX of the Buildi~$ Zone Ordinance.of the Town 0f~ Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Albertson; Councilmen Demarest ~ud Valentine; JusticesTuthill and Clark. Moved by Councilman Demarest; seconded by Councilman Valentine; WHEREAS, the resolution passed by this Board on March 10, 19641 p~rtain- ing to Proposed Local Law No. 2 Year 1964, a local law relatin~t9 the establishment of a Police Department for the Town of Southold, contained certain portions which were found to be illegal afterw~itten, and ~NHEREAS,~ a hearing was held on.MarCh 23, 1964 on the Proposed LOcal Law No..2, .... ~_.. N~, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the resolution on the. P~op~ed. Local Law No. 2 passed on March 18, 1964 is hereby rescinded. Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Albertson; Councilmen and Valentine; Justices Tuthill and Clark. Moved by Justice Tuthlll; seconded by Councilman Demarest; WHEREAS, a petition ~was received from Vina Baker and George M. VanBuren requesting a change of zone of certain property in Mattituck, New York, described in said petition from "A" Residential and Agricultural Dist- rict to "B" Business District N~, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the TOWn Clerk of the Town of Southold be and he hereby is directed to transmit this application to the Planning Board in accordance with Section 901, Subdivision C of Article IX o~ the Building Zone Ordinance of the Town of Southold. Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Albertson; Councilmen Demarest and Valentine; Justices Tuthill and Clark. Moved by Councilman Valentine; seconded by Councilman Demarest; WHEREAS, Southold Town Planning Board prepared an official report and recommendation upon the petition of Robert L. Davids, Peconic, N.Y. for a change of zone from "A" Residential and Agricultural District to "B" Business District on certain property in Peconic, N.Y. NOW, TMMREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That a hearing will be held by the Southold Town Board at the Supervisor's Office, 16 South Street, Green- port, New York, on August 11, 1964 at 7:30 P.M. on the above mentioned petition'and that the Town clerk be and he hereby is authorized'and 4irected to cause a notice of said hearing to be published in the Long Island Traveler-Mattituck Watchman pursuant to the requirements of. law. Mr. 'T. O'Neil asked if any progress had ~e~ made on the bridge in ~Go0se Cree~ channel. The Supervisor that the County 'had been hotified 'and' that progress was being Mr. Stephen Campbell and Mr. Schwarting asked about t~e sign ordinance. Mr. Albertson informed them that the had notified the TOWn, county, and ~tate Highway Departments requesting that Signs be removed from the highways. A petition.was received from ~esidents of Villag~ Lan,e Orient, N.Y. requesting.~e regulation of speed on the highway. Camtion lights were discussed for the new high~ay at Mattituck, N.Y. A letter_was received from the Mattituck Chamber of Commer~e in relation to taking over a road between Krause Road and New Suffolk Avenue. AdjoUrnment was at 4:45 p.M. Alb~ert W..
