Albertson at Greenport, N.Y. on Tuesday, February 4, 1964. The meeting was
called to order at 3:00 P.M. with the following present: Supervisor Albert-
son; Councilmen Demarest and ~aleh~h~; Justices Tuthill and Clark; Town
Attorney Tasker; Supt. of Highwasy Price and Town Clerk Richmond.
Moved by Justice Clark; seconded by Councilman Valentine;
RESOLVED: That the minntes of the meeting of January 28, 1964 be and
they are hereby duly approved.
Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Albertson; Councilmen Demarest and

RESOLVED: ~nat the next regular meeting of the Town Board will be held
at the office of Supervisor Lester M. Albertson, 16 South Street, Green-
por~t, N.Y. on Tuesday, February 18, 1964, at 3:00

WHEREAS, this Board desires to ~mend the provisions of the Building Zone
Ordinance of.the Town of Southold as hereinafter set forth,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the Town Clerk of the Town of
Southold be and he hereby is authorized and directed to transmit to the
Planning Board of the Town of Southold a certified copy of this res-
olution together with a request in writing to said Planning Board instruct-
ing said planning Board to prepare an official report with their recommen-
dations on said proposed amendments pursuant to the provisions of Article
IX, Section~900 of the Building Zone Ordinance of the Town of Southold,
said~p~oposed'amendments being as follows: to wit:
1~ B~ amending Article III, Section 300 of said Ordinance
bY..-adding a new subdivision to be Subdivision 4A, to read as
foltows:~ - ~
4 A. Stables and riding academies, when author-
ized as a special exception by the Board
of Appeals as hereinafter provided.
II. By amending Article III, Section 300, Subdivision 6 of

6. Public utility buildings, structures, or
facilities, when authorized as a special
exception by the Board of Appeals, as
hereinafter provided.

III. By amending Article IV, Section 400, Subdivision 5
of said Ordinance to read as follows:
5. Offices, hanks'and financial institutions.
IV. By amending Article X of said Ordinance by adding thereto a
new section to be Section 1000B, to read as follows:
SECTION 1000B - In any District, no
dwelling shall be hereafter erected or
altered unless provisions shall be.made
therein for not less than eight hundred
and fifty (850)~eet of space within the
exterior of the foundation walls at ground
level exclusive of a garage, car park, aar
port, open porch or terraces, or other
extensions outside the body of the house,
Provided, however, that fifty (50) per cent
of the habitable area of the second story
may be used and applied to the area require-
ment of the first floor. Notwithstanding
anything her einabove to the contrary the
area of the second floor shall be included
in computing the area of the total habitable
area when the finished floor of the second
story has a clear headroom of not less than
seven and one-half (7~) feet with knee walls
of not less than five (5} feet and when the
second floor is serviced~by a permanently
placed stairway.

RESOLVED: That a public hearing will beheld on the following ~"Local
Law ~i of the year 1964~ at 3:00 P.M. on the 18th day of~Febru~,
1964., at which time all persons interested will be heard.
NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING ON LOCAL LAW-
Public Notice is hereby given that there has been presented to the
Town Board of the TOWn of Southold, New York, on Ee~bruary 4, 1964,
Local Law $1 of the Year 1964 entitled "Local Law Providing for Public
Notices to Adoption of Local Law'~, said local law ~eing as follOWs:

LOCAL LAW NO. 1
YEkR 1964
A local law providing ~or public notices relating to adoption of Local
laws. Be it enacted by the TOWn Board of the Town of Southold as follows:
SECTION 1. No local law sh~!l be adopted by the Town Board off'the
Town of Southotd until a public hearing hasbeen held thereon zn its
final form before such Town Board not less than three nor~more than
thirty days after public notice has been given of the time, and place
of the holding of such public hearing. Such notice shall be.given
by the Town Clerk by causing the same to be published once in the
official newspap~m of the Town. Such notice shall contain the title
of the proposed local law and a brief explanatory statement thereof.
2. The Town Clerk shall cause to be printed o~ otherwise repro-
duced copies of such proposed local law.and shall, not lateZ than the
day such notice is published, post one such copy together with the
notice of hearing on the signboard at his office and shall also make
copies of such proposed local law available ~ his office for inspect-
ion by and distribution to any interested person during business hours.
3. The Town Clerk shall forthwith upon the adoption of a local
law by the Town Board post a copy thereof on the signboard at his office.
4. Proof of publication of the notice of public hearing required
by section one hereof and proof of the posting required.by section three
hereof shall be filed in the office of the tOWn clerk.

5. Each local law shall be numbered consecutively beginning
with number one for each ga~ndar year. When a local law is finally
adopted, and certified copies thereof are required by section twenty-
seven of %he,municipal home rule to be filed in the offices of the
Town Clerk,~_the State Comptroller and the Secretary of State, the
Town Clerk shall accordingly assign to such local law its appropriate
number.
6. This local law shall take effect immediately.
Therefore, pursuant to Statute, the Town Board of the Town of Southold,
will hol~,a-public~ hearing on the aforesaid local law at ~the Supervisor~s
Office, 16 South Street,~Greenport, N.Y. at 3:00 P..M. on the 18th day
of February, 1964, at which time all persons interested will be heard.

WHEREAS,: ~ petition was received from Mallard A. Northridge requesting
a change of zone of certain property situated in West .Mattituck,
(Laurel) N.Y. and more fully described in said petition from
Residential and. Agricultural Distrcit to "B" Business District,
NOWt~ THEREFORE, BE IT .RESOLVED: That the TOWn Clerk of the Townc.
of Southold be and he. is hereby directed to transmit said petition to
the ~lanning Board in accordance with Section 901, Article LX of
the Building Zone Ordinance of the Town of Southold, Suffolk County, N.Y.
