Albertson, at Greenport, N.Y. with the following present: Supervisor
Alberts0n; Councilmen Demarest ~nd Ualentine; Justices Tuthill and
Clark; Town Attorney Tasker; Supt. of Highways Price and Town Clerk
RiChmond.
Moved by Justice Clark; seconded by Justice Tuthill:
R~SOLVED: That the minutes of January 14, 1964 be and they hereby
are duly approved.
Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervis~ Albertson; Councilmen Demarest
and Valentine; Justices Tuthill and clark.
Moved by Councilman Demarest; seconded by Councilman Valentine;
RESOLVED: That the next meeting of the Town Board will be held at the
office of the Supervisor, Lester M. Albertson at 16 South Street,
Greenport, New York on Tuesday, February 4, 1964, at 3:00 P.M.
Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Albertson; Councilmen Demarest

At 3:00 P.M. on January 21, 1964 in accordance with a notice published
according to law, bids were opened for proposals to construct a fallout
shelter for the Town of South01d, at Peconic, Town of Southold, N.Y.
The following bids were submitted:

WHEREAS, this Board does~s~reby find that the proposal of William
B. Smith to construct the Fallout and Storage Shelter at Peconic, N.Y.
in accordance with specifications is the lowest proposal for said work,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That Supervisor Alberta be and he here-
by is directed to enter into a contract with william B. Smith for the
construction of the Fallout and Storage Shelter at Peconic, New_york.

RESOLVED: That the Superintendent of Highways of the Town of Southold
be authorized to advertise for bids and to purchase from the lowest
responsible bidder, the following or equal: One (1) 1963 Chevrolet
Carryall with lw volt system, and not more than 25,000 miles (Second Hand)

W~tEREk~the Southold Fire Department of Southold, N.Y. has requested
permission to use the roads in the ~icinity of Tuckers Lane and the
parking area in the rear of the Legion Building for recreation and
parade activities on June 25, 1964 from 7r00 P.M. through the evening,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That this area be closed to traffic for
this purpose.

~IEREAS, James Fitzpatrick, Patrolman Constable, has requested the Town
Board to gra~t him permission to transfer from the Southold Town Police
Force to the Suffolk County Police,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the Town Board consents that James
Fitzpatrick be transferred to the Suffolk County Police.

RESOLVED: That the Town clerk be and he hereby is directed to request
the Long Island Lighting Company to install the following street lights:

RESOLVED: That the Town clerk be and hereby is directed to request the
Long Island Lighting Company to install 1-400 WMV street light on POle
$583, New York Telephone Company on the corner of Bridge Lane and Route
25 in the Cutchogue Light District.

WHEREAS, a petition was received form James V~ and Frances J~ Calfa
requesting a change of zone of-certain property in North Main Street,
Greenport, N.Y. described in said petition'from "A~ Residential and~
Agricultural District to '~B'~ Business District,
N(~, T~EREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED~: That the TOW~ Clerk of the TOWn of
Southold be and he hereby is directed to transmit this application to
the Planning Board in accordance with th'e Section 901, Subdivision C of
Article IX Of the Build'ing Zone Ordinance of 'the Town of Southold.

A letter was received from J. H. Molitor requesting participation of
the Town in opening the entrance of Gull Pond. The residents ~re willing
to pay one half of the cost.
petition was received with about 15 names requesting the dredging
of Baldwin's (Mudd) creek.
After requests from the Mattituck chamber of Commerce and other inter-
ested persons in'the locality, the Supervisor contacted the U.S. Army
Corps of Engineers requesting them to be responsible for the maintenance
work at Mattituck Inlet insofar as maintaining an adequate depth is
concerned. There will be a Corps of Engineer's' Hearing on this proposal
which will be held on thesecond floor of the Mattituck Fire House on
Febnuary 19, 1964 at 1:00 P.M.
