A special meetin of the Southold Town Board was held at the supervisor's
~ffice, 16 SoUth Street, Greenport, N~Y~ ~-on Tuesday, August 13,
the members of the Board having waived~ notice .of the time, place-and
purpose of the meeting. The meeting was calle~ to order by the Supervisor,
Lester M. Albertson, at ~5:00 P-.M. with the ~following present: Supervisor
Albertson; Councilmen Demarest and Grathwohl~ Justices Tuthilt '~d ·
Clark; Town Clerk Richmond. .~. .~
Moved by Justice Tuthill; seconded by councilman Demarest;
RESOLVED: That Bond No. 73S-1747 BC, issUed 'by the Aetna Casualty
and Surety Company in the name of James ~P. Mellas in the sum of $4000.00
be and the same is hereby approved as to its form, manner of execution
and sufficiency of sureties therein.

W~REAS, George McCarthy has applied to the Town Board for ~a',~ single
trailer permit, dated August 2; 1963,
NOW, TB~.REFORE, BE IT R~SOLVRD: That the application of George McCarthy
to locate a single trailer off Rt. 25, Laurel, N.Y. be and ~ereby is
granted for year round occupancy for a one year period.

RESOLVED: That Frank S. Dawson, of New Suffolk, N.Y. be and he hereby
is appointed, subject to the written approval of the District Super-
inten~ent of Schools, Attendance Officer to all schools throughout
the except such schools as are otherwise provided for by Section
the~Education Law, and be it further
RESOLVED: That such attendance officer shall be removable at the
pleasure of the District Superintendent of Schools, and be it further
RESOLVED: That the compensation for such attendance officer be fixed

authorized and directed to advertise for bids for proposals to furnish
14 Sack coats, 28 pairs of pants, 14 caps, 28 shirts and 1 Reefer for
the Police Force.

of the Town-Board, Town of Southotd, N.Y. to explain-the circum-
stances surrounding an accident resulting in damage to a Southold Town
Pat~01. Car on the 24th day of July, 1963. After reviewing the entire
matter, the Town Board directed the Police Chief (Constable) to
assign Patrolman Mellas to foot patrol duty for a period of two
weeks.
