The So~thold Town Board %.~met at the office of the Supervisor, Lester M. Albertson~ on~ Tuesday, July 23, 1963~ The meeting was called to, order at 3:00 P~M. with the .foll~ present: Supervisor Albertson; Coundilmen Demarest and Grathw~hl; Justices Tuthill an~ Clark; Supt. of H~ghways Price and T~wn clerk Richmond. Mo~ed by Councilman Demarest; seconded by-Justice Tuthill; WHEREAS, Dab1 Oil Co.' was. the lowest bidder for fuel diesel oil for the Fishers ~stand Ferry District, and WHEREAS, the Southold Town Board approved the action of the Fishers Island Ferry District in accepting.the lowest bidder, Dahl Oil Co. to furnish diesel oi-1 to.the Fishers Island Ferry District, NOW, THEREFORE, BE tT RESOLVED: That' Supervisor Lester M. Moved by Kusice Clark; seconded by Councilman Grathwohl; _ WHEREAS, the County .of Suffolk proposes to dredge certain ~e~$, of Corey Creek in the Town. of Southold which dredging will be perform~d.b~ owned dredging e~uipment ata aominal cost to the Town of Sou~! and WHEREAS, in, order to accomplish said dredging, agreements and other, documents must be executed on behalf of. the Tow~ of SoUthold, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED,~ that the Supervisor be and is authorized to execute, on behalf of the Town of Southold, all necess- ary plans a~d specifications, spoil area agreements, assurance,s to. the County of Suffolk, 'license/and/or dredging~permit applications to Fed- erat and State Agencies and.all other documents that may be re~red~ to accomplish said dredging .work Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Councilmen Demarest and Grathwohl; Justices Tuthill and Clark. Suffolk owns and operates a dredge and. effaipment suitable for ~edging chanmels and depositing fi_~.ll on des- ignated~ areas, an~ WHEREAs, the TOWn of $outhold has requested that the said i~edge be used in connection with the dredging of corey Creek, Town of. as shown on the accompanying maps and specifications, and WHEREAS, THE Supervisor of the .TOWn of Southold bY resolution duly adopted by the TOWn Board of the said Town of Southold has~ been ta~ thor- ized-and directed to sign for and on behalf of the Town of So, h0!d assurances to the County of Suffolk that the said Town of Southold will perform all acts required to be performed by said TOWn in connection with the preparation for the dredging operation as aforesaid and obtaining of all necessary easements and rights of way for said dredging operation and use of' areas indicated' on the attached map -~r with all necessary rights incidental to said dredg- ing NOW,' ~HEREFORE~ in consideration of the benefits to the Te~n of Southold, as aforesaid, the Town of Southold hereby assures the Co,~nty of Suffolk that it will (a) Furnish, free of cost totthe County of Suffolk, all lands, easements, righ%s Of"way 'and spoil disposal areas necessary for the new work and' subsequent maintenance when and if required for the dredging operation at Co~eY Creek all as shown on the attached map, and (b) Hold and save the county of Suffolk free from any claims or damages resulting from said improvement or ~esulting in any way from the said dredging operation or the use of e~uipment at the said Corey Creek, or use of any ~spoil area or any other af~.ected by said dredging oper- ation. From State Traffic Commission granting the re~aest for a 40 MPH speed'limit~on Peconic Bay Blvd. from Southold Town Line to Bay Ave. Ma~tituck, N.Y. from Junel5 to Sept~ 15 each year, the Town. maintain- ing all signs pertaining to speed on said highway. 2. From Mattituck Fire Department requesting the numbering of houses in the ToWn 'of Southold for more accurate identification in case of emergency. 3. From Ebasco Services' relative to a master plan for the Town of SO~thold. 4. F~m~a~eY Sledjeski commending the Police for their efficiency.
