A letter was received from Herman. E. VonCarp., Mount Vernon,
thanking Patrolman Jam. es..Mellas for his courtesy in helping h~m
change a tire when he was on his way to a funeral.

RESOLVED:-That Supt. of Highways Price be and he hereby is au~ho~-~
ized to contact property, owners on Bay Avenue, Mattituck, New~¥0rk,
rorer he purchase of land for a water basin to eliminate water, h~ards
on the highway. ~.

RESOLVED: Thah Edward Klein be and he hereby is appointed School
Traffic Officer to serve in such capacity at the intersection of PUke
Street and Wick_ham Avenue, Mattituck, N.Y. at the rate of $7.-50 per~
day for each day worked, effective as of February 27, 1963.

WHEREAS, Charles courts has for the past seven years served t~e
of Southold as a school crossing guard, .
RESOLVED, that the Town Board does hereby recognize the exce~!ent and
faithful service, that Charles courts has rendered-the Town of. Southold
during ~is years as School Crossing Guard, and
RESOLVED FURTHER, that in recognition of his services to 1.the Town of
Southold as School Crossing Guard, the Town Board present Charles
Coutts with a copy of this resolution as an expression of it's .sincere
appreciation of his service to the Town of Southold.

RESOLVED: That Supervisor Lester M. Albertson be and he hereby is
authorized and directed to advertise for bids for proposals to furnish
to the Town of Southold five (5) new Police Cars and to trade in five
(5) used police cars.

Moved by Councilman Demarest; seconded by Councilman Grathwohl;
WHEREAS, Woodhollow Properties, Inc. by petition verified on December
1t, 1962, petitioned the TOWn Board for a change of zone of certain
property described in said petition form "A" Residential and Agricult-
ural Distr~ct to '%B" Business District, and
WHEREAS, t~e said petition was referred to the Planning Board for its
official recommendation and report, and
WHEREAS, the Planning Board has filed its official rePo~twith the TOWn
Board, and
WHEREAS, the Town Board.pursuant gO due notice thereof, held ahearing
on said petition on the 21st day of February, 1963, at which time all
interested persons weregiVen an opportunity to be heard,
NOW, T~EREFORE~ BE IT RESOLVED, that the relief demanded in said
petition of WoOdholtow Properties, Inc. be and hereby is in all
respects denied.

WHEREAS, the Town Board on its own motion proposed a changeu of the
Building Zone Ordinance of the Town of Southold, Suffolk county, N.Y.
and
WHEREAS, the said petition was referred to the Planning Board for its
official-:recommendation and report, and
WHEREAS, the Town Board pursuant to due notice thereof held a hearing
on February 21, 1963,. at which time all interested persons were given
an opportunity to be heard,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE-IT RESOLVRD: That the Building Zone Ordinance of
the Town of Southold, Suffolk County, New York, be amended as follows:
to wit
1. That Section 500 of Article V of the Buildi~ Zone Ordinance of
the TOWn of $outhold be amended to read as follows:
SeCtion 500 - On the "C" Industrial Districts, all build-
ings and premises may be used. for any use except that the
following uses maybe permitted only as a special exception'
by the Board of Appeals, as hereinafter set forth:
Z~By amending Article V, Section 500, Subdivision 1 of.the Building
Zone Ordinance to.read as follows:
~i. Abattoirs
III. By amending Article V, Section 500,~Subdivision 17 of said
ordinance to read as follows:
17. Garbage, offal or dead animals, reduction or dumping.
IV-. By'amending Article V, Section 500, Subdivision 34 of said ordinance
to read as-followS:
34. Stockyards or slaughter houses.

Moved by CounCilman~Demarest; seconded by Justice Clark;
RESOLVED: That Supt. of Highways Price be authorized to advertise for
bids and purchase from~ the lowest bidder 700 ft. of 12' corrigated pipe
and 35 12'~ connectors, 300 ft of 24" corrigated~pipe and 15 24'~ connectors.
