The metering was called to order at 3:0'0 P.M. with the following present: SuPervisor Albertson; Councilmen Demarest and Grathwohl; Justices-Tuthill 'and Clark; Supt. of Highways, Price; Town Attorney Tasker and~gwn clerk Richmond. Vote of Town Board: Ayes, Supervisor Albertson; Councilmen Demarest and Grathwohl; Justices Tuthitl and Ctark..~ Moved by Justice Clark; seconded by Justice Tuthill~ ~3 W-H~EAS, a resolution was passed by the TOWn Board on September 18,' 1962 request~ng~a 15~MPH limit on Cedar Lane, Goose Bay, Southold, NY, and WHEREAS, the State Traffic Commission advised this Board that a 15 MPH limit was contrary to the provisions of the Vehicle and Traffic Law, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the Town Board rescinds the Said resolution of September 18, 1962. Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Albertson; Councilmen Demarest and Grathwohl; Justices Tuthill and Clark. Moved by councilman Demarest; seconded by Justice Clark; WHEREAS, the Goose Bay~ssociation requests a lower speed limit on Cedar Lane, Goose Bay, Southotd, N.Y. NOW-, THEREFORE,-BE IT RESOLVED: That the Supervisor be and he hereby is authorized to communicate with the State Traffic Commission and re~aest itto establish a maximum speed limit of 25 ~PH on cedar Lane, Goose Bay, Southold, N.Y. Moved by Justice Clark; seconded by councilman Grathwohl; W~ERE~ AS, a petition was received from the residents and property owners of Bowery Lane, Southold, for a change of name of said lane to AKERLY POND LANE, and WHEREAS, the Board acted upon said petition, now, therefore, be it RESOLVe: That Bowery Lane shall hereafter be known as AKERLY POND LANE. vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Albertson; councilmen Demarest and Grathwohl; Justices Tuthill and Clark. Moved by councilman Demarest; seconded by Councilman Grathwohl~ W~EREAS, Clement W. Boot~ and Southold Builders, Inc. have made applic- ation re-the Town Board dated July 15, 1962 to dedicate certain high- ways at S0U~hold,~ N.Y.' to be known as JENNINGS ROAD and BOOTH ROAD, being more fully described in said petition, together with releases executed by the owners thereof, and WHEREAS,' the Highway Supt. has inspected said highways and has advised the Town Board that said proposed highways comply in all respects to th~specif~cations for the dedication of highways in the Town of Southold, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVF-~: That in accordanc~ with Section 171 of the Highway Law of the State of New York, consent be and the same is hereby given to the Supt. of Highways to make an order laying out the aforesaid Highways to consist of 'land described in said applic- ation,, and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That the Town clerk be and he hereby is author- ized and directed to forthwith cause the dedication and release and deeds to be ~ecorded in the office of the Clerk of the County of Suffolk, New York. Moved by Justice clark; seconded by Justice Tuthill: WHEREAS, ~the BUrton Potter Post %185 American Legion has appl/ed -to the TOWh clerk of the Town of Southotd for a Bingo License, and WHEREAS, the Town Board has examined the application and after invest- igating the matter, duly made findings and de~erminations as required by law, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the Supervisor be and he hereby is authorized and directed to execute on behalf of this Board the find- ings and determinations required by law andi it is further RESOLVED: That tb~ Town Clerk be and he hereby is directed to issue a Bingo License to the Burton Potter Post ~185 American Legion. A petition was received from Business men of the Town requesting a Building Code in the Town of Southold. The Supervisor was requested to contact State Representatives of Building Code to appear before the Board and explain the New York State Building Code. Moved by Justice Clark; seconded by Councilman Demarest; RESOLVED: That General Bills in the amount of $5,641.70; Lighting District Bills in the amomat of $2,645.7~ and Fishers Island Ferry DiStrict Bills in the amount of $11,311.67 be and the same are hereby ordered paid. The meeting of the Southold Town Board reconvened at the Supervisor's Office, Greenport, N.Y. on October 90 1962 at 7:30 P.M. The hearing on the application of Leander Glover et al wasopenedby the Supervisor at 7:30 P,M..The minutes of the hearing were recorded by Judith Boken.
