The meeting was called to order at 3:00 P.M. with the following present: Supervisor Albertson; Councilmen Demarest and Grathwohl; Justices Tuthill and Clark; ~pt~,;of Highways Price; TownAttorney Tasker and Town Clerk Richmond. Moved by Councilman Demarest; seconded by Justice' Clark; RESOLVED: That the minutes of the meeting of August 21, 1962 be and they hereby .~re duly approved. Several interested residents of the Town appeared before the Town Board s~king information on the Town ~aking over the Village Police Force. Moved by councilman Demarest; seconded by Jus~i=e Clark; WHEREAS, Fishers Island FerryDistrict Commissioners request the approval of hir.~n~ John Picket as clerk to the Fishers Island District, and WHEREAS, the Town Board wishes to know the duties of the clerk, NOW,-THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That supervisor Albertson request the Fishers Island Ferry District to furnish the TOWn Board with a Duty Statemeh~Of the Clerk's job. Moved-by ~Justice Clark; seconded by Councilman Demarest; WHEREAS, the Lutheran Church has applied to the'Town Board for permission to run a 2~inch plastic watermain along Town property, Greenport, N.Y. and WHER__F~.AS, the Supt. of Highways has no objection to said water main, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the Lutheran Church be given permiss- ion to lay said water main along Town Highway, Greenport, N.Y. Moved by Councilman Demarest; seconded by Justice Clark: WHREAS, the Town Board of the ToWn of Sol,hold has been advised that the Board of Trustees of the Vi!lageof Greenport comtemplates the abolishment of their Police Department, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the Town Board of the Town of Southold assume the duties of policing the areas within the Incorp- orated'Village of Greenport as, if and when the said-Village of- Greenport Police Department is abolished. King bF petition verified on June 25, 1962 petitioned the TOWn Board for a cha~ge of zone of certain property described in said petition, from "A~ Rgside~tial ~u4d'~A~ric~ltural District to "B" Business District, and W~EREAS, the said petition was referred to the Planning Board for its official recommendation and report, and W~ER~AS, the Planning Board has filed its official report with the Town Board, and WHEREAS, the Town Board, pursuant to due notice thereof, held a hearing on said petition on August 28, 1962, at which time all interested persons were given an opportunity to be heard .... NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ~SOLVED: That the relief d~anded in said petition of Edwin H. King be and the same is in all respects denied.
