The. meeting was held ~n the Fishers Island Theatre and was called to order by Supervisor Lester M, Albertson at 1:30 P.M. with the following present: Supervisor Albertson; Councilmen Demarestand Grathwohl; Justices T~thill, clark and Edwards;, Supt. of Highways~ice; Town Attorney Tasker and Town Clerk Richmond. Officials of the State, County and Town and g~ests and a delegation of Fishers Island r, esidents were also present. SuperviSorAlbertson introduced the State, Cou~nty and Town Officials and the Fire District Chitfs. Moved by Justice E~wards; seConded by Councilman Demarest; RESOLVED: That the reading of the minutes of the previous meeting be dispensed with. Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Albertson; Councilmen Demarest and Grathwohl: Justices Tuthill, Clark and E~wards. Moved by Justice Edwards; seconded by Councilman Grathwohl; WHEREAS, residents qf Fishers Isla~ N.YAhave requested the Town Board -to regulate,the speed of boats in West ~bor and Hay Harbor, Fishers Island, and WHEREAS, the T~wn,~oard~i~ of the opinion that in the interest of Safety the speed of boats should be limited in said areas, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVRD: That no person shall operate a boat on the waters of West Harbor and Hay Harbor, Fishers Island, N.Y. at a speea..,~greater than five (5) miles per hour and be it further RESOLVED: That the Supervisor beaand he hereby is au~horized to cause notice of such spee~ limit to be posted in appropriate places in said Harbors.~ ~ote~qf Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Albertson; Councilmen Demarest and Grathwohl; Justices Tuthill, Clark and Edwards. Moved by Councilman Demarest; seconded by Justice clark; RESOLVED: That the regular monthly meeting.of the Town Board will be held at the Supervisor's Office, 16 South Street, Greenport, N.Y. on T~ sdaY, Sept. 4, 1962 at 3:00P.M. Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Albertson; Councilmen Demarest and Grath~O~;~ Justices Tuthill, Clark and Edwards. Supervisor Albertson inquired if there were any problems the Fishers Island people would like to discuss. The questi~on of legal stop signs on the Island was brought up. The Supervisor said that a, Committee had been working on signs and would h~ave ,a report in the near future. The ~/uestion of a stop sign or a white line at the Four Corners was discussed. Mrs. Timmerman questioned the Supt. of Highways about the rocks~laced on the beach. Supt, Price stated that his jo~ was to pro- tect the public roads and the rocks were placed there for that purpose. Mr. Gueet thanked Supt of Highways Price for the good work he had done on the roa~s on FisherS Island in the past few years.. Supervisor Albertson a~ked if there were any more questions. There was no response. Moved by Justice Edwards; seconded 'by Councilmen Grathwohl; RESOLVED: That this meeting be recessed, (2:15 P.M.) Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Albertson; Councilmen Demarest an d Grathwohl~ JUstices Tuthill, Clark and Edwards. At the close of the meeting all were invited to the Legion Hall for a light,lunch and coffee which was served by the ladies of Fishers Island.
