The meeting was called to order at 3:00-P.M. with the following pr~ent~ Supervisor Albertson; Councilmen Demarest and Grathwohl; Justices Tuthill and Clark; Town Attorney Tasker and Supt.,~of Highways Price and Town Clerk Richmond. Moved by Justice Tuthill; seconded by councilman Demarest;- RESOLVED:. That 'th~inutes of the meeting of July 24, 1962 '~be and they hereby are' duly approved. Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Albertson; Co~ncilmen.~.Demarest and Grathwohl~ Justices T~thill and Clark.. Moved by Councilman Demarest; seconded by Justice Clark; RESOLVED~'.. That the TOWn Board'make its official visit to Fishers Istand~ on Tuesday, ~AugUst 21, 1962. The meeting ewill ~e called to order at 1:30 P.M.. The Supervisor is hereby authorized t~ provide transportation. The boat will leave Sterling Marina in Greenport, N.Y. at 9:~0 A.M. Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Albertson; Councilmen Demarest and Grathwohl; Justices Tuth~ll and Clark; M~ed by Councilman Demarest; seconded by Justice Tuthill: WHEREAS, SoutholdlTown Planning Board has prepared an official report and recommendation~ upon the petition of Edwin H. King, Orient, N.Y. for a change of zoRe from "A" Residential and Agricultural District to "B" Business District on certain property at Orient, N.Y. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That a public hearing will be held by the Southold Town Board at the office of the Supervisor, 16 South Street, Greenport, N.Y. on Tuesday, August 28, 1962 at 7':30 P.M. on the above mentioned petition and that the Town Clerk be and hereby is authori~ed and directed to cause a notice of,said hearing to be published in the Southold Traveler-Mattituck Watchman, pursuant to the requirements of law. Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Albertson; Councilmen Demarest and Grathwohl; Justices Tuthill and Clark. Moved by Justice Tuthill; seconded by Councilman Grathwohl; WHEREAS, Chester L. Ciaglo has applied to the Town Board for a single trailer permit dated August, 1962, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the application of Chester L. Ciaglo to locate a single trailer on family property, Laurel, N.Y. be a~hereby is granted for year round occupancy for a one year period. Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Al~ertson; Councilmen Demarest and Grathwohl; Justices Tuthill and Clark. Moved by Justice Clark; seconded by Councilman Demarest; RESOLVED: That the report of Howard M. Terry, Building Inspector, for the month of July be accepted by the Town Board and placed on file. Howard in the sum of $4000.00 be and the same is hereby approved as to its form, manner of ~execution and sufficiency of sureties therein. Vote of Town Board: Ayes-supervisor Albertson; Councilmen Demarest and Grathwoh~; JuStices Tuthill and Clark. Movedbby Justice Clark; seconded by Councilman Grathwohl; RESOLVED: That Bon~ No. 73S-1754, issued by the Aetna Casualty and Surety Company in the name of Harry W. Smith in the sum of $4000.00 be and the same is hereby approved as to its form, manner of execution and suffic- iency of sureties therein. Moved by Councilman Grathwohl; seconded by Justice Clark; WHEREAS, the Cutchogue-New Suffolk Park District is in the process of acquiring certain property for Park purposes, and WHEREAS, it is necessary that Bonds be sold in the amount of $27,350.00 for acquiring said property, and WHEREAS, it is the iopinion of Sykes, Gallaway and Dikeman Bonding Attorneys that it would be ~n the best interest of the people of the Cutchogue-New Suffolk Park District to sell Bonds at private sale, and WHEREAS, the Supervisor contacted all Banks doing business with the Town of Southold, and WHE~AS, a bid of 3~was received from Valley National Bank and a bid of 3.35 % was received from North Fork Bank & Trust Co., ' · NOW~ THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That Supervisor Lester M. Albertson be authorized and directed to inform the North Fork Bank & Trust Co. that they were the lowest bidder, and B~..!T ?~THER RESOLVED: That the Supervisor be authorized to sell said BOnds to ~he North Fork B~nk & Trust Co. at the Lnterest rate of 3.35 %. Mo~ed by Justice-Clark; seconded by Councilman Demarest; RESOLVED: That Ralph Rooks, Fishers Island, N.Y. be appointed Special Bay Constable to police town waterways-at Fishers Is~nd with no com- pensation from the Town. Vote of TOWn Board: Ayes-Supervisor Albertson; Councilmen Demarest and Grathwohl; Justices Tu~hill and Clark. Moved by Councilman Demarest; seconded by Justice Clark; RESOLVED: That Robert Tasker, Town Attorney, Town of Southold, be and he here~y is authorized to attend County Officers School Sept. 9, 10, 11 and 12, 1962 and be it further RESOLVED: That the necessary expenses incurred while attending said school be a legal charge against the Town.
