The, Southold T~wn Board met at the office of the Supervisor, Lester M~
Albertson, at Greenport, N~Y. on Tuesday, July i0,~ 1962 at 3:00 P.M.
with the following present: Supervisor Albertson; Councilmen Demarest
and Grathwohl; Justices Tuthill and Clark; Supt. of Highways Price, Town
Attorney Tasker and Deputy Town Clerk Marion Regent.
Moved by Councilman Demarest~ seconded by Councilman Grathwoht~
RESOLVED: That the minutes of the meeting of June 26, 1962 be and they
are approved.
Vote 0f~Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Aibertson; Councilmen Demarest and
Grathwohl; Justices Tuthill and Clark.

RESOLVED: ~nat the next regular monthly meeting of this T~n Board will

RESOLVED:- That the report of Howard M. Terry, Building Inspector, for the
month ~f Ju~e be accepted by the Town Board and placed on file.

Mt. Robert Trubenbach appeared before the Town Board to request police
patrol on roads leading from Founders Landing when dances are held there
on ~ednesda~ and Friday nights during the summer° Supervisor Albertson
referred this request to Police Chief Howard.
Moved by Councilman Grathwohl; seconded by Councilman Demarest;
RESOLVED: .That the Town Board of the Town of Sou~hO!d approves the action
of the~ Commissioners of the Fishers Island Ferry District in engaging
Thomas A. Murphy, of New London, Conn. for position of Porter at the New
London Dock for the summer season, effective as of June 20, 1962 and that
the compensation be. $50.00 per week payable monthly.

Supervisor Albertson reported that he was engaging Li~e Guards~ f~r~ the'
summer months at East Marion, Gut1 Pond, McCabes Beach, Horton Lane~ silver
mere and NOW Suffolk~

WHEREAS, the Greenport Fire Department, Greenport, N.Y. applied tothe Town
Clerk for a Bingo License, and
W~EREAS, the Town Board has examined the application and after investig~-
ating the matter, duly made findings and determinations as required by
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the Supervisor be and he"hereby
authorized and directed to exe~ate on behalf' of the Board
and determinations required by law, and it is further
RESOLVED: That the Town Clerk ~e and he hereby is directed to issue a
Bingo License to the Greenport Fire Department.

WHEREAS, Burton Potter Post %185 of Greenport, N.Y. applied to the Town

WHEREAS, the Town Board has~examined the application and after investig~
ating the matter, duly made findings and ~eterminations as require4 by law,
NOW, T~RREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the ~upervisor be and he hereby ~is
authorized and directed to execute on behalf of the Board the find-i-ngs

appointed, subject to the written approval of the District Superintendent
of Schools, Attendance OffiCer of all schools throughout the Town, except
such scho~ls as are otherwise provided for by Section 3213 of ~%he EdUCat-

RESOLVED: That such Attendance Officer shall be removable at the pi~Sure
of the District Supt. ~f Schools, an4 be it further
RESOLVED: That the compensation for such Attendamce Officer be 'fixed at

Frank S. Dawson and the District Supt. of Schools of this appointment.

all ef which ~ave been filed in the T~Wn Clerk's Office, Southol~, N.Y.
Mr. Price also reported that the addition of'14' on Georges' Roa~, NeW
Suffolk N.Y. had been accepte~ by t~e TOWn Sup~. a~ Town Highway, the
deed of same having been filed in the Town Clerk's Office, SoUthold, N.Y.

detail as has hereto fore been determined by the T°wn Board ef the T~n
of Southold relating to the extemsion of the Mattituck Lighting District
No. 1 in said T~wn, a~d
WHEREAS, such map or plan has ~een duly filed in the T~wn clerk's Office

engineers and surveyors duly licensed by the State of New York, showing
the bo.~ndaries' of the proposed district;
WHEREAS, the'b~undaries of the proposed district are as follows:
BEGINNING at the center line of Bay Avenue on the northerly shore of
Great Peconic Bay, about 500 feet southerly from the southwesterly corner
of the existing Mattituck Lighting District No. 1; running 'thence south
westerly along said shore line about 1800 feet to the westerly line of land
of Husing and the n~rtheasterly end of the existing Mattituck Lighting
DJ.strict No. II; thence northwesterly along the last described-, line to
the center line of Great Peconic Bay Boulevard; thence southwesterly along

WHEREAS, the improvements proposed are the installation and operation of
street lighting facilities on the public highways ~f said proposed distrk~:

WH~EAS, the proposed meth~ of financing the cost of said improvement
consists of assessmemts levied on benefited real property within said
proposed District; and
WHEREAS, the maximum amount proposed to be expended f~r said improvement
is Two Thousand ($2,080.00) Dollar~; and
WHEREAS, said' map ~r pla~ describing said improvement is om file in the
T~n-Cle~k'.~ office, for public inspection, n~w
on Motion of Justice of the Peace Tuthill amd Seconded by Coumcilman

ORDERED that the T~Wm B~ard of the T~wn of Seuthold shall meet amd hold
a public hearimg at Village Hall in the Village of Greenport in said
T~a om t~he 24th day of July, 1962- at 7:30 o'clock P.M. on that day,
to consider said map or plamn and and to hear all persons interested'
in the subject thereof c~cerning the same, and to take such action
thereon as is required or authorized ~y law.
